"It's Complicated"

Night. At Rufus' place. 

The wedding was going to happen at the loft. Even Scott was here. 

Rufus smiled "and i promise to eat caviar without spitting it in my napkin when we go to dinner at Mayor Bloomberg's. As long as he knows when he comes to our house, he's eating my chili ."

They all chuckled. Everyone but me. I couldn't force myself to smile. 

A family friend "Lily?"

Lily "and Rufus, um, i know that our future will be like us: flawed and fragmented and full of more love than i ever thought possible. I am so excited for you to be my husband. "

then she turned to us "and for our children, all of them, to be my family"

The family friend "well, by the power vested in me by a sketchy service on the Internet i pronounce you husband and wife. "

Rufus kissed mom and we all clapped. They broke up and hugged everyone.  

Mom hugged me. 

Me "i'm so happy for you"

Mom "thank you. Where's Carter?"

I froze "it's complicated"

Mom nodded, understanding "it's okay. I'm here if you wanna talk"

I smiled and hugged her "thank you. I love you mom"

In Dan's room. 

I was sitting outside on the fireescape stairs. 

Chuck walked to me "hey, i've been looking for you. You okay?"

I looked at him but then i looked back at the city. 

Chuck climbed out and sat down next to me "Fla-"

Me "Carter told me some heavy stuff and it turned out that he's still the same asshole i fell i love with. He told he it's different with me but it was a lie "

I looked down, hiding my tears. 

Chuck "Flavia-"

I looked at him in tears "Chuck, if you love me please don't say "i told you so", please"

He nodded and put an arm around me and pulled me closer to him. 

Chuck sighed "look, i may loathe the guy but he didn't have to own up. He could've skipped down. I even bought him a ticket. He risked a lot going to the wedding, knowing Bree would be there. "

Me "Don't tell me the girl he was engaged to was a Buckley"

Chuck nodded  "He really does love you"

I asked worried "you think the Buckleys would hurt him?"

Chuck "they clearly want revenge"

He kissed the side of my head then walked back inside 

I took my phone out and called Carter. Voice mail. 

I sighed "Hey, Cart, i just talked Chuck. call back, please, i need to know if you're okay. I wanna talk to you, please. Cart"
