Just as an addition to the book, I actually chose the name of some of my characters by their meaning.
Mallory - unfortunate, ill-fated, unlucky → representing everything in her life = losing a child, husband, hiding, raising a child alone, having an illness, death
Corinne - beautiful maiden → being without a man, still managing to solve everything as an independent woman
Nancy - favour, grace → being the preferred child and excelling in everything (while she lives)
Isabelle - "God is my oath" (I actually don't have a proper reason, I just liked the meaning and the name because of Isabelle Lightwood)
