"Ouuu I saw that!!!" Meagan came screaming towards the bar, doing a little dance.

It was closing time at the strip club. They still had a few people in here from the party from earlier. The DJ slowed the music down to some old school jams.

"Oh my goodness, can you stop?"

"Nope! I saw you two having a moment." She said, placing moment in quotes.

"We were not." I said "I was helping him through something and he told me his name and shook my hand. Simple."

"Simple my ass." She said, laughing.

I rolled my eyes and continued to clean the glass cups, placing them onto the counter. I looked at her as she continued to do this little dance of hers as she made fun of me.

Meagan have been trying to hook me up with dudes to 'get over' Kyle for the past few years now. I've declined each and every one of her little hook ups because I don't need anyone to get over Kyle. I'm over him already and I most definitely don't need a man to fill any type of void.

Besides I have too much baggage on me right now anyway. I'm a mother and my only focus is to remain just that and work so I can move to a better place with better opportunities for myself and my kid.

"What was his name?" She asked, sitting in one of the stools.

"Anthony." I said, flipping the chairs and placing them onto the other end of the bar.

"Anthony and Lauren." She said, looking into the air "It has a nice ring to it."

"Shut up." I said, rolling my eyes.

After I was done cleaning, Meagan and I made our way down the freezing streets of New York. It had to like twenty seven degrees out here.

"I hate those damn things!!" Meagan said, covering her ears.

The ambulance and fire truck sped pass up both, honking its horns and whaling their sirens. They were headed towards Mrs. Hall's apartment complex and my heart began to speed up.

"Let's go!" I said, grabbing Meagan's hand.

I took off running towards the direction we were originally walking to. It was that far of a walk from the club so we made it there under 6 minutes.

I saw an paramedic holding Kylie as the other two carried Mrs. Hall down the stairs on the stretcher with an oxygen mask over her face.

"KYLIE!!" I screamed, about to run to her.

"Ma-" The paramedic tried to push me back.

"THAT'S MY KID!!!" I screamed.

I pushed passed him and ran to my daughter, grabbing her from the paramedic. I held her so tight.

"Baby what happened!?" I asked, pulling back and examining her entire face.

"Nana fell, mommy." She cried, wrapping her arms around my neck as she buried her face into my hair.

I rushed over to where Meagan was with the paramedics as they put Mrs. Hall onto the bus.

"This is our grandmother." We both said, hoping they'd let us on.

I could feel the lump in my throat as I held onto Kylie. The man nodded and helped us onto the ambulance.

I looked down at Mrs. Hall and she looked at me, reaching for my hand. I held onto it gently yet tight enough to where I wasn't hurting her, letting my tears fall.

"Mommy is Nana gonna be okay?" Kylie asked, her face still in my hair.

"Yes princess, she's going to be just fine." I said, looking at Mrs. Hall.
