"Jiji!" I say again, this time with a bit of an annoyed tone. She sighs and turns around, taking the boy's hand and holding onto it. She plasters a bright smile on her face and says: "Oh my gosh! Could it be? Little Y/N from middle school?" "Yea! Jiji! It's me!" I reply. "Well, you don't seem to be so little anymore huh." She says, looking me up and down.
"Heh" I laugh. "We used to call you flat Jiji remember? Oh wait no," Ji-hyun suddenly has a confused expression on her face, "I think that was just me. Now, would you like it better if it was a comment on your flat chest or flat singing skills?" I say, clapping back at her roast with a hotter one.
Ji-hyun smirks a little and says: "Y/N, you may have been the more popular one in middle school, but here I'm the queenka. So if you want your school years to fly by smoothly, I'd strongly advice you not to piss me off." She's staring me down now with her piercing eyes, even though I'm the taller one, even with the heels she's wearing.
"I'm sorry but I don't think that's possible, unless you back off first." I say, batting my eyes. "Ha! It's like you're practically asking to be hated," she says; it looks like she genuinely laughs. "Whatever Y/N, I can only wish you good luck on your first day. See you around." She turns around still holding hands with the guy. He looks at me before he turns around too, with the same piercing look Jiji gave me. I respond to his look by widening my eyes and raising my eyebrows, leaning forward a bit. Kind of a you wanna go bro??? look. He doesn't have any reaction, but continues to walk away with Jiji, eventually turning his head.
How hard can the bullying at this school be anyways? I've already endured tons of bullying and fat-shaming and got through it, I seriously don't think this can be any worse.
I start walking, with a map of the school on my hands. As I see my classroom I see Ji-hyun's supposed boyfriend walk in as well. That's just great, I think to myself, I'll be in the same room as my ex-best friend's boyfriend. He probably hates me too. Whatever, I'll just ignore him.
As I walk in the classroom, the teacher looks at me and widens her eyes. "Ah! Yes of course our new student. Quiet class!" She yells, shushing the noisy classroom, filled with students catching up on each other's lives during summer vacation. They instantly quiet down and sit in their seats.
"Good morning class." Mrs. Sun says. "Good morning Mrs. Sun!" The class replies in unison. "Class, I'd like you to meet our new student..." She looks at a piece of paper and reads "...Park Y/N." I can hear a few whispers from the crowd...oh my gosh, she's so fat...I heard her arguing with Ji-hyun this morning...seriously? Damn she's got guts...I didn't even know they made our uniforms that big...sigh...that last one kind of stung.
"Quiet class, quiet! Also you guys are terrible at whispering. Anyway, would you like to say anything Y/N?" I shake my head no. "Alright then, you can sit next to...ah, Kim Taehyung! Mr. Kim!" She yells at a sleeping boy by the window. I recognize him as one of the boys in that hot-shot boy group. The class chuckles as he wakes up with a cough-like sneeze. "Wah...what?" He says, still half-asleep. Wow he's really cute. I think to myself, laughing with the rest of the class to his unusual manner of waking up. And damn, that deep voice though...
"Mr. Kim, I'd appreciate it if you waited till after class started and after I say something that was actually worth falling asleep to for you to actually fall asleep." Mrs. Sun says, making the class laugh even more. I like her, she's got style. "Anyway, Taehyung please get up so Y/N can sit in your seat."
I turn to Mrs. Sun, surprised since I thought she pointed out Taehyung so I could sit next to him, not to let him get up to open up a seat for me. Besides, there were other empty seats in the class, even one next to my brother. I don't see a reason why she had to split up Taehyung and his seat partner...Ji-hyun's boyfriend?? I have to sit next to him? Well, there goes my plan for ignoring him.
"But why Mrs. Sun??" Taehyung pouts. I'm curious too, and I'm sure the entire class is as well. "You two," she says gesturing to Taehyung and Ji-hyun's boyfriend, "always cause a ruckus in class when you sit next to each other, I'm not having any of that this year so get up, you can sit over there, next to...Joe was it?"
"Yes, Joe Park." The girls in the class all giggle, turning to each other to probably talk about my brother's unbelievably muscular body and sculpted jawline. A few guys go woh, tapping each other on the shoulder and pointing at Joe, taking notice of their own arms.
"Joe is Y/N's brother. I guess you decided to go straight down to a seat huh." "Uh, yea. Sorry, is that not how you do things here?" "Excuse me?" Mrs. Sun says. "My brother studied abroad in America during middle school, so he doesn't know how things work in the Korean school system yet." I say, hoping to settle the confusion. "Ohh, alright, thank you Y/N." Mrs. Sun smiles to me. "Taehyung, please sit next to our new student Joe. Y/N, you can sit next to Jeon Jungkook." Mrs. Sun says, gesturing to the now empty seat next to him. Oh so that's his name.
The class suddenly wooohs and all heads turn to Jungkook, who just shrugs, saying bye to Taehyung by giving him a side-five. He has a slumped pose, slouching on his desk chair.
As I go to sit down, he doesn't look at me at all. Not to mention the gap between the back of his chair and the desk behind him is too small for me to go through to my seat next to the window, but he doesn't budge, not letting me in.
"Can you please move?" I ask politely...and nothing.
I stood there like an idiot, getting some arrogant chuckles from my peers, before I thought of a solution...
