"Jared. Evan is in the hospital..." Heidi, Evans mother spoke softly the phone, awfully calm. She was trying to hold together as best she could but even if her voice was soft and calm.. The hints of panic could be heard in her voice if you listened close enough.

Jared's face went pale at the news that echoed in his ears. "What do you mean Evan is in the hospital.." Jared couldn't think of anything. "Why. Why is he in the hospital?" Heidi's voice on the other end of the line, cracked as she whispered the words.. "H-He was hit by a truck... He is hurt pretty bad Jared.. I couldn't get a hold of Connor, he wont pick up."

Jared clenched his hand in a fist as tears went down his face. "I am leaving now." Jared hung up the phone before Heidi could get another word in. He rushed to get his keys and put on shoes, he flew out the door and into the car as he raced to the hospital.

Jared swung open the doors to the hospital lobby, scaring the receptionist and other visitors. "WHERE IS HE!" Jared, screamed at the woman at the counter. "I-I am sorry sir, you will have to be m-more clear than that." Jared stared coldly at her. "Where. Is. Evan. Hansen." The receptionist swallowed hard, fear lingered in her eyes as she shakily typed his name. "I-in room 201 sir.." Jared moved quickly, the speed he moved seemed to defy physics and the laws of gravity.

Evan laid there in the hospital bed, his arms had tubes coming out of them, as well as his mouth and other places. He looked so broken. Like he was dancing on the verge of death. "E-Evan.." Jared fell to his knees down  to Evans side. His hand caressed the side of Evans purple and broken cheek.. Jared buried his face into the white clean sheets, his tears started to stain the starch white as he wept and wailed...

Connor's eyes opened, he felt a rushing headache hit him as the light reached his eyes. He groaned in pain as he lifted up his own body. He felt sharp pains in his arms as he pressed his fingers to them. He grunted as he changed his shirt and jacket. Connor's phone made a blip noise causing him to look down at his phone. Connor read through the notifications. An email about bongs.. a text from his dealer.. A phone call? From Evan's mother..?
Connor raised his eyebrows at the notification. He opened his phone and swiped his pass across the screen. Connor tapped on the voicemail, a crackling, smooth voice came through the speaker. "Connor, Evan is in the hospital. He is in urgent care and has been for 2 hours. you haven't been picking up. But what ever you are doing it cant be more important then Evan. " The voice cut off and blipped. "End Of Message." the phone mocked  him. Connor felt a sickening feeling in his belly, Connor spilled the contents of his stomach on the bedroom floor.  Wiping  his mouth on his sleeve,  he moved toward the door.

Jared woke to the sound of the curtain moving aside. His memory was blank to where he was until he saw Evan in the hospital bed. He wiped away his tears from his stained cheeks, his glasses where smudged with skin prints on the glass. Heidi smiled down at him but Jared didn't even glance at her. "Jared, I brought you some water.." Jared ignored her as he touched Evans hand, trying to find even a sign that Evan was awake.. "Jared.. I know its hard.. but.. You are not the only one suffering here.. I am his mother. I feel this pain the most.. so please care for yourself." Jared looked up at her and nodded slowly..

Connor mumbled Evans full name to the woman at the front desk, his body felt drained from driving from place to place and so quickly.. at least, for his body that is.  The woman smiled up at him and gave him Evans room number. He moved toward the elevator.

Jared drank the water bottle that was on the side of the counter table. Heidi, Evans mother, was asleep in a chair. Jared could hear an echo of footsteps down the hospital corridor. He could swear he recognized the foot patter down the hall. Jared moved away from the door as he heard the footsteps stop before the doors handle jingled.... Jared's eyes widened as he saw the dark figure in the door way. The figures mouth opened and spoke in a familiar voice.

"Hello Jared.."
