I sat on the ground looking at the grass. Tears slowly came out my eyes and fell to the grass below. I couldn't believe Valentine was capable of such cruelty. But what I couldn't believe even more was the fact that I had angel blood in me. I couldn't register it well. And my mother let it happen! I wept silently until I felt hands at my shoulders. Jordan crouched down beside me.

"I'm sorry man," he said softly.

I looked up at him and saw his eyes were a little swollen from crying. He helped me stand and he hugged me gently. I hugged back and I turned to look at Alexia. She was crying and Maia was holding her.

"It seems impossible, that someone would do that," I told Jordan. He clasped my shoulder.

"At this point nothing seems impossible," he said warily. I smiled gratefully and walked over to Alexia. She had parted from Maia. She looked at me and I quickened my pace. I hugged her tightly while she hurried her face at my shoulder.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," I kept mumbling to her. I squeezed her again before we parted. I could tell she was starting lose herself to the demon.

"Lets get out of here," we gathered our stuff and she kneeled on the ground and drew a portal. Once everyone had jumped I looked at Alexia. Her eyes were pitch black.

"I'm sorry," and she jumped through.

With one last look at the destroyed house I jumped into the ground.

I landed on Magnus's doorstep. I was alone. I knocked on his door and he opened.

"We've been waiting for you," he eyed me warily. I held the demon box in hand sword strapped across my back and book tucked under my arm. He took the box and I stepped into the house. We walked down the hallway until we stepped inside the room. I stood in the doorway and looked around. Maia, Alexia, and Jordan were sitting on the couch drinking coffee I think. And then there was a cat on the table, he was either dead or sleeping because he was laying on the table with all four paws sticking up straight in the air. I pointed to it and looked at Magnus.

"What is that?"

"That's my cat. His name is chairman meow and don't mess with him, he's asleep." he said sternly.

I gave him the book and started reading. I sat on edge of the couch beside Alexia. Magnus brought me a cup of coffee. He sat down and started reading with other several books surrounding him. Me and the guys sat there in silence processing what we had just seen. Me and Alexia sitting here with more Angle blood than the regular Shadowhunter. I do wonder if Valentine did other things besides giving us angel blood. If he does good he also does bad, but to who? it has to have been someone near us. I kept pondering on these thoughts until Magnus was done. He came and stood in front of us.

"From what I could find out there's going to be some things needing to be done before we can proceed. First there needs to be a ritual performed on the sword, the ritual will be consisting of the mortal cup. With that cup we need to pour some of her blood into it and use it in the ritual. Second we will need to summon the angel Raziel. When we do we need to ask him to bless the sword, at that point the tip of the sword will be covered in her blood. When we do that the next part will be the hardest of all."

He turned his attention to me and Alexia.

"Once that sword is blessed by him one of us will have to plunge the sword into her heart letting the demon escape from her body and into the open demon box. This is a risk we will have to take because we don't know if she'll survive the process. Hopefully the sword won't be too powerful enough to take her life away. When that's over and she does survive she will need to go to the silent city and have the silent brothers perform a ceremony on her that prevents anything or anyone from invading her mind." He stopped there.

I looked at him in disbelief. There was no possible way that I would ever let her die in front of me. No. I looked at her. Her eyes mirrored mine. I saw fear, disbelief, and recognition. Recognition of what could possible happen to her.

"You need to chose if you want to go through with this. If you don't the demon will stay in possession and then there is nothing I can do about it." Magnus said.

I didn't listen. I stood from the couch and looked down at her. I waited until her eyes were in mine.

"I'm not losing you. I just got you back. I know it's your decision to make but I won't live myself if I see you die in front of me knowing that I could have stopped you. If you die there's no life left for me do you understand that? We've gone through hell and back together but I can't do this for you. I won't. I don't want to be the one who has to stab you because if you die that sword will be pointing into my heart next."

She was crying and I wanted to comfort her but I couldn't. So instead I left. I went out of there as quick as I could before I changed my mind. I wandered the streets not knowing where to go. I didn't care if anyone recognized me and hauled me back to the clave. I walked for hours until I looked up and realized where I was. I saw in disbelief that I had ended up in the park. I looked ahead of me and saw a figure. It walked towards me and too soon I recognized the face.

It was my mother.
