The Loved One

Chapter 6

-Yuzu

Here's the four words to describe this school: the best school ever. Here's the reasons why: the teacher is never here anymore, we get to relax on the roof, no homework, and more social time. Plus, more time for me to hang out with my homies. Gotta love them. Even though they each have secrets, and they split up in two, but I'm fine with it.

"Yuzu? You okay?" Inoue asks me.

"Yeah, sorry I space out a lot," I giggle, nervously.

Honestly, I'm scared. Akito's coming here, away from the Sohma estate, which is extremely rare. This is terrible, he probably found out that I told my friends about the curse, and he's gonna punish me.

"Okay class, I have an announcement, and Yuki, Kyo, Yuzu, I need you three to go to the office, after the announcement. Okay, we are gonna have some guests visiting us next week. They are coming from a school for rich kids, and they are wanting to see what our school is like, so you all be on your best behavior. Now you three can go," she sighs, and the three of us exit the room.

I shake the whole way there, and Yuki and Kyo are quiet. Once we open the door to the office, I'm pulled into someone's arms. My eyes widen in shock, as Akito hugs me. He has tears running down his face, and he's shaking. I immediately relax, and hug him back.

"What happened?" I ask him.

"The curse was broken!" he exclaims.

"Then why are you shaking?" I ask him.

"I've done so many things to you guys, I'm so sorry!" he hugs me tighter, and I frown.

"Wait, so, there's no more curse?" Kyo asks him.

"No more curse," he nods his head, and Kyo decides to test it.

Tohru walks into the office, and Kyo shoves Yuki into her. Instinctively, Yuki pulls his arms around her, but there's no poof.

"It's true," I gasp, and my eyes full with tears. "You're not gonna die, Akito! We can hug other people! We can start a family!"

I fall to my knees, and Akito comes down with me. I pull myself together, and smile at Kyo and Yuki.

"The curse is broken?" Tohru asks us, right when Haru and Momiji walk in.

They see me hugging Akito, and smiling, and their eyes widen in shock.

"Really!?" Momiji exclaims, and hugs Tohru.

Again, nothing happens.

"How'd this happen?" I ask Akito.

"Her," he points a finger at Tohru.

"Me? How could I break it?" she asks us.

"You accepted us," I think out loud. "Then it slowly faded!"

"Finally," Haru gasps, and smiles.

We all pull it together, and go back to class. Akito leaves, and goes back to the estate. We all enter the class, normally, but if you looked in our eyes, you could see the happiness.

_Lunch_

"Why'd you have to go to the office?" Inoue asks me.

"Uh..." I hesitate, and look at the others, who are talking happily. "The head of the Sohma family came to the school. He told us that the curse has been broken."

"Really? So, if Ichigo were to hug you, you wouldn't turn into a panther?" she asks me.

"We only turn when we want to," I smile.

"That's great," Rukia smiles at me.

"They knew?" Kyo asks me.

"Yeah... about that... I told them." I smile, shyly.

"Okay, it's no big deal now, but if I found out a couple hours ago, I would've killed you on the spot," he smirks at me.

"Getting cocky, are we?" I ask him.

Then my phone starts ringing.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey, sis." Haruhi greets me.

"What's wrong? Do I need to kill someone?" I ask her.

"No, I just wanted you to go see dad, and tell him that I won't be home tonight," she laughs.

"Boyfriend?" I guess.

"Club," she sighs, annoyed.

"So... no boyfriend?" I ask, disappointed.

"Shut up!" she exclaims.

"Oh! I get it! You like one of them, but you can't tell them, because they're an idiot." I guess.

"I don't like any of them." I can picture her glaring at the phone.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," I chuckle.

"Oh, I know someone that I bet you would love to meet." she laughs, darkly.

"Oh! I have something to tell you! Can we meet up this weekend?" I smile.

"Sure." she laughs.

"Usual place, at noon," I smirk, not wanting anyone to know where I'm meeting her.

There's no problem in being mysterious.

"Kay! See yah then, sis." she hangs up before I can say anything.

"Sister?" Inoue asks me.

"Yup, she wants me to go tell my dad something." I look at my watch. "I better do it now. Yuck. Tranny bar."

I leap over the fence, and land on the ground, which is four stories down. Then I race towards the bar that my dad works at.

_At the Bar_

"Dad!" I call, and make my way towards him.

"What are you doing here, Yuzu? You're not old enough. How'd you get in?" dad asks me.

"I bit the usher. I came here to talk, let's go somewhere private." I glare at the crowd.

"Come on," he pulls me in the back.

"What's going on?" he asks me.

I just hug him.

"The curse was broken," I smile at him.

"Oh sweetie," he hugs me back, and I laugh.

"I love you dad," I whisper.

"I love you too," he chuckles.
