Chapter 5

Recap:

-Yuzu

I wake up to the same nightmare that I had last night.

FLASHBACK:

"Yuzu, wait up!" Inoue yells.

We are currently playing tag, trying to act like kids.

"You'll never catch me alive!" I yell, laughing.

Then she grabs my wrist, and my bracelet gets ripped off. I stare at the bracelet in shock. Then I let out a scream, as I transform into the monster I am. Everyone is standing around me.

"I should've known not to trust you."

"I always knew you were a monster."

"You're not Yuzu, you're a monster."

They continue to say things, and I scream.

"Leave me alone!" I yell, but it comes out as a roar of a monster.

That's what I am, a monster. I leap towards the woods, and run away.

"You can't run away."

"You're a monster."

"Nobody would ever love you."

"What did Ichigo even see in you?"

"A monster like you is not meant to be alive."

"Shut up!" I scream, and keep running.

"You're a monster," the voice repeats.

"No! Shut up! Leave me alone!" I scream, and I approach a river.

My reflection looks back at me, and I flinch. A monster. That's what I am. A monster, that no one would love, but fear. Why did I ever think that I could be accepted?

"You okay?" Kyo's voice brings me back to reality.

"Just peachy," I smile, sarcastically.

"Bad dream?"

"Bad life."

"Ah, that sucks."

"Kyo?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think Inoue and her friends will accept me, if they see..." I trail off at the end.

"I think they'll need time to accept it." he tries to comfort me, "but I bet they've seen some pretty crazy shiz, so I bet they won't take long."

'You're a monster, no one will accept you.' the voice echoes in my head.

"Thank you, Kyo." I smile at him, but this time it's a smile that shows my feelings: hope, fear, sadness, happiness, hatred, love.

"You're welcome."

-Kyo (This one's important)

Her smile. She's broken. She believes that no one will accept her once they see her true form. I was like that, but then that one night. My master had removed my bracelet in front of Tohru, but she accepted me. She admitted that she was scared, but she still accepted me. I just have to help Yuzu through this, but I would never do what my master did to me. I would never wish that upon her, she would never smile again.

-Yuzu

I stare at she clouds, as it begins to rain, Kyo groans in frustration, and we make our way home, but we're soaked. Yeah, that's how bad the rain was. We race into our bedrooms, and change. I change into a blue hoodie, black short-shorts, blue flats, and a blue beanie. Then I keep my bracelet and necklace on. I stare at my bracelet, and then leave the room. I see everyone sitting in the living room, watching a movie, so I join them, and fall asleep.
