Ever's P.O.V.
It all happened in a flash, My parents fought. My mom hit me. My dad got custody of me. My dad moved us to California to be with my grandmother and to stay away from my mother. I sometimes wonder why they fought so much. Then I remembered.. (A/N italics is a flashback to something)
It was a late night, my dad and I were watching Bates Motel together when my mother stumbled in drunk, covered in hickeys and reeking of sex. My father frowned and led her upstairs when a loud crash echoed around the house and all was silent. My mother rushed downstairs in tears mumbling incoherant things when she stopped in front of me and slapped me hard across the face.
"You caused this Ever, you just always had to be stuck up your daddy's ass and he never had time for me. Look what you've done now!" I knew she was drunk. She reeked of booze and sex and drugs. This wasn't my mother. This was a poor excuse for a woman. She stalked out the door and slammed it shut. I felt a tear slip down my face. My dad came downstairs and hugged me close. I've been with my father ever since.
I felt a tear slip down my face as I thought, and wiped it away since I was in school. No one was allowed to see my weakness, except for my father and my grandmother. My phone vibrated in my pocket, letting out a loud howl. Shit. I forgot to turn my ringtone off this morning. Wait, I thought to myself. That's my reminder sound. I unlocked my phone and checked the reminder.
Heat Starts Today. I fought back the sudden urge to scream. Oh wait, did I forget to mention I'm a werewolf?
