Chapter 9: The Twins

(So originally I was going to write a chapter about Jack and Poppy but I was thinking and I thought about the twins and realized in earlier chapters I never really said anything about them so here's chapter 9: The Twins. Love you My Big Bad Wolves <3 ~Russia~) 

                                                                Calum's P.O.V. 

I looked over at my shaking brother. He was curled up in fetal position, sobs racking his body. Let me explain.

        My brother Kyler has been abused since he was 2. My dad took a certain liking to him, beating him almost every night. I at that point had no idea what was happening when my dad took Kyler to the other room, I mean I was stupid and naive. Also, he waited till my mom had left the house for work to abuse Kyler. It happened all through my childhood, as I got older it became less frequent when my mom was laid off, and I was so glad. When she went back to work, it was more frequent, and I cringed when I heard the sickening slap of leather on skin. I tried to help, try to stop him. But if I got in his way, I'd earn a punch to the face. Or worse, I'd get tied up in the basement and whipped. You could say he treated us like slaves, only we never did stuff for him. That was my moms job. But what my dad did to my mom was a whole different story. 

When Kyler and I were 10, one day my mom came home exhausted from work. She plopped down on the couch and heard my dad yelling to her. She reluctantly got up and went to the kitchen. Next thing Kyler and I knew there was yelling and sounds of skin on skin and my mother crying. I knew excatly what was happening. He was raping her. When my mom came home and my dad wanted to have sex she would usually say yes, but she didn't want too, and he wasn't taking no for an answer. I called the cops and they showed up and arrested him for rape and assault. I haven't seen him since. 

I looked back over at Kyler who was silent now, and breathing heavily. I pulled him into my lap and nuzzled his neck, whispering soft words of comfort in his ear. 

"I'll protect you Kyler..."
