Ever's P.O.V.
As it neared my due date, everyone was in high alert. Luke was with me basically every second, and the betas were always around me when I went out. And of course, I was also extremely grumpy, all the time. Baths seemed to help sometimes, but usually I woke up in the middle of the night to Amber kicking.
About five days before my due date, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache. Thinking it was natural, I laid back down next to Luke, but a minute later another sharp pain came along with my water breaking. I shook Luke awake, holding my stomach.
"Huh, wha...?"
He looked at the wet spot where I was once sitting, and up to my hunched over panting form.
"Fuck!"
He rose quickly out of bed, yelling for my father and grabbing the pre packed bag. My father helped me out to the car, my contractions about a minute apart. We arrived at the hospital, and I was rushed to an empty room. My regular doctor came in and about six hours later, Amber Rose Hemmings was born.
Of course I wanted to bring her home right away, but they had to keep her overnight, just a regular regulation. The next day Luke and I went and picked her up, and she liked her nursery a lot. After the first few nights, I was exhausted. I wondered why I had decided to have a baby in the first place, but when I looked at her I felt whole.
