This story takes place in a Hatoful Boyfriend alternate universe in which there are a race of people who can transform into birds and back again, and those who cannot (just like you and me). All the characters who have the interesting shape-shifting trait are all the bird characters from the Hatoful Boyfriend game. These characters are usually in their human forms though, and it will say other wise if they are not.

Aside from that major detail, some of the original Hatoful Boyfriend story has been altered as well, along with a lot being glossed over to avoid annoying repetition from the game itself. It's recommended you play all of the Hatoful Boyfriend BL before reading this story, for it will have spoilers and content you won't understand if you're not familiar. It will also stray away from the plot line all together in the third act, so that's where the purely new content will be, just be patient.
