"Yuuya!" Hiyoko screamed out as she caught up to him just outside the festival entrance.
"Ah, Hiyoko! It's so lovely to see you," he gave her a little wink.
Hiyoko panted heavily from the sprint over "I-I'm sorry I'm... a little late," she paused to take in more air "I was having trouble getting my Yukata on right; I have never worn one before! I hope you weren't waiting for me for too long".
Yuuya takes a stepped back and admired Hiyoko's floral, pink striped Yukata, smiling softly "Nonsense, Mon Amie, for it is the gentleman's duty to not keep the lady waiting. And besides, by how you're looking," Yuuya took a step closer to her and gently took her hand in his own "it was well worth the wait".
Hiyoko blushed and suddenly became aware of how sweaty her palms were. But, from the look on Yuuya's face, he didn't really seem to mind.
"Your Yukata looks good on you too, Yuuya," Hiyoko flashed a genuine smile at him "but blue always looks good on you".
Yuuya smirks "Thank you. I will hold your compliment in my birdie heart forever".

The two love birds had a wonderful time partaking in the festivities. All was well playing the games, eating the fun foods, and simply enjoying each other's company.
Hiyoko clutched to the little Lucky Cat keychain Yuuya had won for her at one of the booths.
"It's so cute! It'll look so good on my hunting bag!" Hiyoko jumped for joy.
Yuuya smiled down at her "You're such an interesting girl, Mon Amie".
Suddenly, a loud CRACKLE followed by a BOOM sound rang out in the sky ahead.
Hiyoko gasped, eyes widening "Oh no! We're gonna miss the fireworks!"
Hiyoko clenched Yuuya's hand with all her strength—which nearly broke his bones—and tugged him to the edge of the festival among the crowd that was 'Oo-ing' and 'Awe-ing'.
"They're spectacular," Hiyoko whispered in awe as she watches the colorful explosions light up the sky.
Yuuya turned to see her to see her joyful face "It sure is".

The festival was now over, and Hiyoko and Yuuya were sitting side-by-side on a bench just outside the ground's gates.
"I had a really fun time tonight Yuuya, but-"
Yuuya glanced to Hiyoko, waiting to hear what she was thinking.
"Would you be willing to talk about what happened the other day? Like you promised?" Hiyoko begged.
"Certainly, a promise is a promise, and I don't intend on breaking one, especially if it's one of yours," Yuuya responded with finesse "Ask away".
"Okay," she tightened her fists, laying them out on her knees "I more just want to know how you trusted me so much when you were confronted by the doctor. I hardly ever spoken with you before then, so was it all because of the dance?"
Yuuya looked a bit stiff, and she took notice of him fidgeting with his sleeve "If you didn't understand why I trusted you, and knew I was lying, why did you play along?"
"Uh, I dunno," she scratched her neck "I read the room? The doctor looked mad, so-"
"You played along with my charade. Could it be because you have feelings for me?" Yuuya had a sudden mood change from serious to flirtatious.
"What?! I, uh-" Hiyoko blushed at the sudden question, and was a bit too flustered to speak properly.
"I must admit, I too had a lovely time this evening with you, along with at the homecoming dance as well. But no matter how we feel, nothing can or should happen between us," Yuuya looked serious again.
Hiyoko looked at him speechlessly, and unable to properly comprehend what he just said and why.
"But, if you are willing," Yuuya inched closer to Hiyoko on the bench "I wouldn't be opposed to having a little more fun with you in a private setting. But just for tonight. Do you accept?"
"What?" Hiyoko leaned back "Uhm, no thank you, Yuuya! Sorry, but I'd rather not!"
"Ha ha ha," Yuuya chuckled "no worries, Mon Amie,"
Yuuya got up off the bench and extended his hand out to her "At least let me walk you home, then?"

"Yuuya was really acting strange at the end there," Hiyoko spoke to herself while laying on a pile of straw on the floor of her cave.
Yuuya had just dropped her off at home and left immediately afterward. She was then left to play all the fun things he and she did at the festival through her head.
"Maybe I do have feelings for Yuuya. I had such a great time with him tonight," she crossed her arms over her eyes "but what was that about us never being able to be together? Why did he say that all of a sudden?"
Hiyoko let out a long, much needed, sigh "I guess that's just how it has to be".
