Safe for Now....

Chapter 8: The Apartment

The next few days were very relaxing. For my siblings at least. Mainly my sisters were relaxed and having fun. Seth was watching them, which can't be but so relaxing. I was dealing with Sydney and Zara's school arangements. I had taken a tour of the school and meat their new teacher. She seemed very nice, her name was Mrs. Davis. She was about as tall as me with brown hair and eyes. She's really pretty and seems like she will be a great teacher. After meeting the teacher I got their supply list and got their supplies for school.

The day came to quick for us to move in to our new apartment, for my sisters to go to school and for me to start a new job. I took my sisters to school and Seth went to our new apartment with our bags. I feel bad leaving him with all of that stuff to carry in, but I have to go to work today to.

"Hi Linda." I say.

"Hi Alice. Here's your badge." Linda handed me a badge with my name on it. "Today you will be helping me take inventory in the furniture and house appliance sections."

I nodded and gave her a small smile.

"Come with me." Linda lead me to the area we would be working. "How's your family doing? Do you like your new apartment?"

"Their doing great. We move into our apartment today. The only one who has seen it is Seth." I answer.

"Does your apartment have furniture and appliances?" She asked.

"Well from what the article I read about it said, there should be. It should at least have the basic furniture like beds, a couch, TV, refrigerator, and microwave. Stuff like that. Enough to get by on for now." I say.

"Well if you need any sheets for the beds I'd be glad to give you some of my old ones. They used to be my childrens before they moved out." she offered.

"That would be wonderful!" I say.

I worked until 3:00PM then Linda gave me the old sheets and comforters. She said she kept them here because some people that come in want to buy used so they are less expenssive. After getting the sheets I went to our new apartment. When I got to our apartment, Seth was almost done putting things away. I took out the sheets and layed them on our beds.

After putting everything away it was 3:30. It was time to pick up Zara and Sydney from school.

"Alice! Alice! Alice! We made a new friend and we want you to meet her!" Zara exclaimed.

"This is Christy." Sydney said.

"Hi Christy. It's very nice to meet you." I say. "My name is Alice."

"It's nice to meet you to Alice." Christy says.

"Girls we have to get going now say goodbye." I say.

Simultaneously Zara and Sydney said goodbye.

"Bye." Christy said.

When we got to the apartment I showed Zara and Sydney their rooms. In their rooms were two beds with the purple bedding I put on them. Along with the matching purple curtains on the two medium sized windows. Next to the beds were their oakwood nightstands. There were also two oak desks for them to work on there homework. I'm glad this apartment came partly furnished. The man who owns the building and collects the rent says the people moved but left some of the furniture. All the other apartments only had beds. Their room also had a big closet. The clothes they had picked out were on their beds.

"Y'all should go ahead and put your cloths in the closet. Maybe organize them so you don't wear each others cloths." I say to them.

"Ok" They say. They imediatley start puting their cloths in.
