My eyes squinted in confusion at the sight in front of me as Luke and I stood in front of a local nightclub. "Getting wasted before a show isn't entirely a good idea, Hemmings."

He grunted at my statement and walked towards the entrance of the building with me following closely behind. "Did you even read the ticket Ashton gave you?" He exasperatedly asked.

"Becky took it from me." I admitted.

He grabbed the door's handle and turned back to me with a different look. "You ready?"

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "For what?"

He opened the door and led me inside the room. It wasn't that much of a big space, but it could fit a lot of people. There was a bar on the side of the room and a stage upfront. My lips broke into a smile as three boys started approaching us.

"Look at you two, finally bonding and not fighting." Michael raised an eyebrow at my direction while I only gave him a confused look. "You're supposed to be on a date right?"

"Oh, right. Logan couldn't make it this morning but I'll be gone by tonight." I shortly said and looked around the venue. "It's going to be quite a crowd in here, I can already see it." They all nodded in agreement and busied themselves by prepping up for later's soundcheck.

I felt a little disappointed since I wasn't going to be one of the people in the crowd later tonight. Even though I've already heard the boys somewhat play in their garage, I knew it was going to be much different when they're up on stage with a huge crowd in front of them and a whole new set list.

I went backstage and found Calum on his phone with a stressed look on his face. I gave him a smile to which he returned. I couldn't help but overhear his conversation though.

"Hurry up, soundcheck's starting soon. Okay- bye." He dropped the call and turned to me with an expectant look. "Hey. Ya' need something?"

I shook my head no. "Was that Becky?" He looked down on his phone and chuckled.

"Yeah, she takes more time in the closet than anyone I know." I let out a laugh and gave him a pat on the shoulder.

"Good luck with that." He chuckled in response and proceeded on helping the other boys set up.

I felt a little out of place since I've never really been to any soundcheck before. I used to go to concerts with Becky all the time but when Logan came into the picture, we never really got to hangout anymore and go to different shows like we used to.

I didn't mind just standing there and watch them work though. It was a rare scene, and I had this weird feeling inside of me that this wasn't going to be the only time I'd watch them prep for a show.

They all looked busy and seem to know what they were doing. I knew it wasn't their first time performing in front of a lot of people but I could feel the tension and anticipation as it grows by the minute.

I was sitting alone across the bar with my phone while the boys were backstage. It wasn't very long until I felt a grumble in my stomach and I needed to leave.

The place wasn't going to open til' 8 so there was really nothing else to do. I stood up from my seat and headed to where the boys were.

"Hey guys. I'm heading out for a bite." When I spoke up, they were all huddled up in a small circle humming different notes I wasn't very familiar with. They didn't seem to pay any attention to what I said so I just shrugged my shoulders. "I'll see you guys later then."

I started walking out when I heard Calum called out to me. "Wait!" I stopped midway and waited for him. "I'll come with you." He breathed out.

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "You are?"
