"So what are you going to do now?" I groaned.

"I don't know, I can't really think straight when I have a possible death sentence on my head." It had already been a day ever since I had the most dreadful conversation with my mom and she wasn't very happy afterwards.

I literally had to lie to her face when she asked me about Logan, but she later revealed that she caught Logan's Tucson the day dad and her had a fight and how she's just waiting for me to say something about it. I ended up telling her the truth and things started going shit after that before I could even begin to realize what I said.

She just started rambling on and on about how getting into relationships at such a young age can undermine my own ambitions and potential. I see her point, really, but what they don't realize is how they're denying me from learning from my own mistakes by thinking that they're stopping me from making the same mistakes they did. See, my mom was taking up architecture when she met my dad but back then she had to settle for being a local artist to take care of Clark and give way to my dad's business.

Still, she should know better and realize that I'm not going to be stupid enough to settle for being a housewife to a man who took my last name and replaced it with his. I don't want to end up in my forties with a dramatic teenage kid and a runaway son like her. Heck, I just want to get out of this stinking town as fast as I can and move to the other side of the world.

I was snapped back to reality when I heard Becky spoke up suddenly. "Listen, your mom's nice right? Maybe she'll let you off this time, you're old enough to have a boyfriend anyway."

I sighed. "You know how my parents get, they just control my life like it's theirs to live." She groaned and smacked a pillow on her face in frustration.

"It's just a friggin' boyfriend Sam, how bad can your life get? It's not like getting one will have you killed or something. You're eighteen, you should be allowed to date already." I laughed at her statement.

"Yeah but for some reason, they think I'll get knocked up by some random teenage boy I met at high school." I stood up from her bed and opened my bag to pull out some pjs I brought.

"But you're too good to be a teenage mom." She blurted out.

"Exactly." I stated simply.

"Don't they know that their kid's a total badass and will beat up someone who tried to get in her pants?" I shook my head.

"No, they don't. The only reason they don't want me going out and socializing is that they're afraid I'll turn into Clark." She immediately gasped at the mention of my brother's name. I've always known she had that crush on him but she always denied it like a little 14-year-old hormone driven girl would a few years back.

"You mean your fine looking brother who moved away with a girl like ages ago and completely forgotten about all of you?" I cocked an eyebrow in her direction.

"That sounded accurately weird but yeah, that guy." She giggled like a kid and abruptly stopped to regain her composure.

I swear to god, I have a natural born fangirl for a best friend.

"No offense, but I can literally picture you doing the same thing he did." I gaped at her.

"Are you kidding? I'm not going to ditch my family, Becky." Or at least I wasn't planning to. I just didn't want to keep living under the same roof as them. I only want to establish my own life and career where I can do the things that I want to do and not what they want me to do.

"Well then, how will you explain these random sleepovers every time you're on the verge of running away?" I heaved out a sigh and sat beside her on the bed.
