Samantha Stewart"Do not piss me off today Hemmings, I'm running out of energy to think of places where I'm going to bury your body." I've only arrived for five minutes and Luke was already getting under my skin. I swear, that guy has a way of pissing me off that nobody else can.
"See? I always knew you had the hots for my body, Stewart." He shot me a wink making all the blood inside my body boil.
"That was not-" I was ready to pounce on him if it wasn't from my phone ringing in my back pocket that stopped me from doing so.
"And her pretty prince comes to the rescue." All boys groaned in unison once I answered the call. It had already been over a week since they started rehearsing the song and I've done nothing but work my ass off to get these boys together and working in harmony. It wasn't easy at first, but I've grown fond of them and their immature ways of making good music.
Logan, on the other hand, was getting a little impatient with me over the past few days and sometimes a little overprotective. He seemingly always wanted to know where I was, what I was doing and who I was with. And his ten daily phone calls was one of the things he does to show me how cynical he can be.
"Hey what's up?" I said rather a bit too fast than I anticipated.
"Where are you?" I looked around while they all stared at me impatiently.
"I'm in my room, at my house. Safe and sound." I sharply said.
My heart dropped at his next words. "I'm on my way over." I quickly left the garage and looked around to see if he was anywhere near the house.
"I don't know. I'm a little busy." I tried sounding a little tired but it didn't seem to work. I was pacing back and forth when I felt a presence behind me. He motioned for me to hang up but I dismissed him with a hand wave.
"You're always busy. I want to spend time with you. Come on babe, I miss you." I smiled through the phone as my heart fluttered from his words.
"I miss you too." I giggled.
I heard a sudden cough behind me and saw Luke with an annoyed expression as he made a puking face. I shooed him away but he wouldn't budge. "Was that you? Are you sick?"
I quickly tried covering it up with another fake cough almost the same as Luke's, hoping he would buy it. "I am feeling a little beat and I don't want you seeing me like this. Maybe you should come by this weekend, and then we'll hang out." I bit my lip and waited for his answer.
After a long pause, I heard him sigh through the other line. "Okay. I'll see you this Saturday." A smiled started spreading across my face.
"Great. See you Saturday." Before he could say another word, I hang up the phone and followed Luke inside.
"I'm guessing you're busy this Saturday then?" He asked beside me.
I stopped walking and gave him a look. "So you're eavesdropping now?" He rolled his eyes at my question and walked faster to get ahead of me.
"You're inexplicable joy when you talk to your boyfriend is hard to ignore Stewart. I can hear your childish giggles from miles away."
"I do not giggle-" He cut me off.
"I miss you too!" He said in a girly and mocking tone as he copied me from my conversation with Logan earlier.
I opened my mouth to talk but came out with nothing, earning a striking smirk from Luke himself. It was the kind of smirk that left me breathless for the first time and I hated him for it.
