It's been about 2 weeks now since Mailan and I went to our last therapy session. We didn't go these past Friday's because of how distant we've both have been. Every time I have went, I always thought it was a waste of time, that was only because I was so caught up in how mad I was and still am, at Mailan. But, I've been thinking. Maybe I could get answers to what I've been looking for.

I do love Mailan, like I've mentioned before, but it's not in me to be suspicious about the person I'm with, and keep the relationship going without getting to the bottom of it. I would like to get back to where we were originally, so today I decided to tell her I'll go with her to therapy again.

----------

The drive to the therapist was silent. I was in my own little world and from the looks of it, she was too. I invited one of my old friends, Derrick to tag along with us. I only invited him because after this therapy session, I'll be going back to his place to spend the night instead of going back home.

"Aye Derrick, what's the plan for tonight?

"It doesn't matter to me, we can..."

Mailan cut him off before could finish his sentence.

"So you're going out with him later?"

"Yup. And spending the night."

I can already see where this is going.

"When were you going to tell me about this?", she asked as she rolled her eyes.

"You know now, don't start."

"You can't just make plans without telling me. How did you know I didn't need you at the house?"

She can't be serious.

"Dude, you haven't even looked at me at me since we went to our last therapy session. Let alone speak to me. We haven't even slept in the same bed!", I said as I started to get irritated.

"That doesn't matter! You can't just make plans without consulting me first!", She yelled.

I laughed and shook my head.

"Wow. That doesn't matter?

I couldn't believe the words that came out of her mouth.

"That's crazy man. You're right, it doesn't matter. And I told you before, you're not my mother. If I want to hang out with my friend, I can do so.

When we pulled up to the therapy place, Derrick agreed to stay in the car while we went in. I left the keys with him in case he needed to turn it on for any reason.

As we walked in, we greeted our therapist and sat down. Today we requested a one on one session with just her, Mailan & I.

"How are you guys doing this morning?", she asked as she took out her pen and notepad.

"We could be better.", Mailan said slickly as she rolled her eyes.

I ignored Mailan's obvious attempt at pissing me off. It was working but, I didn't let her know that.

"I'm doing fine Ms. Anderson, thanks for asking."

She shifted in her seat uncomfortably multiple times since Mailan opened her mouth. She definitely has dealt with couples with their issues before, but I guess Mailan & I's relationship was a bit much for her.

"Ok so, today I will be listening to both sides from you two. One of you will tell me why you feel however you feel and then when that person is done, the other person will get the chance to speak. But all I ask is that when one is talking, the other doesn't interrupt. Agreed?"
