(Fast Forward to the day they leave to go to Colorado.)

"Mai, come on man we're gonna miss our flight." I yelled while waiting on her at the door.

I have to say, Mailan and I have gotten a lot better since we've decided to work on us again. I still have my doubts about her sometimes. There are still subtle things that she does when I ask her questions, but I wasn't going to dwell on it like I did in the past. If she's lying to me about something, it'll come out in the end.

And if after all this time, I have to let her go, she'll be the best mistake I ever made. As I mentioned before.

"I'm coming now!" She said as she was rushing out of our room.

When she was finally ready, we got in the car and drove to the airport.

-------------

After we got settled at the airport, we waited for our flight.

"Are you going to be okay on the plane?" She asked.

She knew I had a fear of heights but she also knew I didn't like to be in the car for long periods of time either.

"Yes, I will. You might have to hold my hand though." I joked.

She playfully rolled her eyes and laughed. I adored her.

"You got it dude." She said as she laughed.

After 15 minutes of waiting, our flight was called and we got on the plane.

"You ready?" She asked.

"I should be asking you that, these are your parents." I said while laughing.

"True. But, you gotta deal with them just like I do." She said while smiling.

"Oh shit, you're right." I said as I pretended to forget.

------------

After being on the plane all that time, we finally got to her parents house. Her parents', Adeline and Steven, were a piece of work. I always got a bad vibe around them, they always acted like there was some big secret that I shouldn't know. Mailan acts the same way, but I figured it was just something she got from her parents.

As we walked through the front door, Mai's parents were beyond excited to see her after so long.

"Hi Mailan! We missed you so much." Her parents said as they pulled her into a hug.

"And Eli! It's so good to see you too." Her mother said as she made her way over to give me a hug as well.

"It's good to see you as well Mrs. A." I said as we pulled away from our hug.

"Eli, this is my cousin that I was telling you about, Austin." Mailan said as she pointed out who she was talking about.

"Nice to meet you Eli." He said as he extended his hand out for a handshake.

"Nice to meet you as well." I said as I shook his hand.

"My apologies for not being able to make it to your wedding with my cousin. I was out of town." He said.

"It's all good. No worries." I assured him.

"Need help with any bags?" Asked her father.

"Uh yeah, let's go get them." I said.

I could tell Mai and her parents missed each other. Seeing her happy was the only thing that mattered to me.
