When I woke up, Derrick and Nicole were still asleep. It was 9 a.m. and I had to be at work in two hours. When I left Mailan at the house yesterday, I didn't grab clothes or anything so I knew I had to go back home to get ready. I woke Derrick up to let him know I was leaving.

On my way home, I wondered what I was going to walk into with Mailan when I got home. I didn't want to even think about our issues because it was so overwhelming. I didn't want to think about if she was cheating, I didn't want to think about any of it. I just want to have a good night's sleep without overthinking myself into depression. It was tiring, draining, and time consuming. I wanted to go back to how things were before. When everything was simple and we loved each other.

When I got home, I went inside the house. I noticed that the couch was messed up. Which it never is. But then I seen Mailan laying on the couch asleep. Which could explain that.

I didn't wake her up. Instead I just went to the bathroom and started the shower so I can hurry up and get ready. Mailan had to be at work at 1:00 p.m. so I knew I had to rush. She takes forever to get ready, so she'll need all the time she could get.

Right when I was about to get out, I heard the door open.

"Eli is that you?" She asked.

"Yeah. Who else would it be?" I asked.

"Just asking. When you get out, we have to talk." She said.

"Not today satan. What could she want to talk about? Whatever it is, I wasn't in the mood for any bullshit today." I thought to myself before I could answer.

"What is it Mai?" I asked.

"You'll see when you get out." She said.

After that, she left the bathroom, leaving me to dry off and put clothes on. When I went into the room, she was sitting on the bed on her phone. She put it down because she noticed me walk in the room.

"Sit down." She said as she patted the bed for me to sit.

As I sat down, I listened to her as she began to speak.

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for the way our relationship has been going. I don't want us to fall apart because of this. I don't know if you feel the same way, but I miss how things used to be between us. I've come to realize that we both feel as if we're right. We both aren't seeing eye to eye right now. But, like I've said before, I don't want us to fall apart because of this. We aren't going to get anywhere if we both won't even speak to each other just because we feel as if one is right and the other one is wrong. I'm willing to swallow my pride and work towards what we once had if you are." She said as she looked down.

"She's right. I still believe she's up to something. But, maybe I should've waited until more evidence, obvious evidence, fell in my lap before doing all that I have done." I thought to myself.

"You're right." I said as I looked at her.

She smiled and stared back at me. I felt happy again. Just looking at her smile brightened up my day, and those eyes are to die for.

"I'd love to work on us again. I missed you." I said as I looked at her and smiled.

Before I knew it, she jumped in my arms and started hugging me.

It was going to be hard to not always think she's up to something when things don't seem right. But, I can't be quick to jump to conclusions. If in the end, I have to let her go, then she'll be the best mistake I ever made. Until then, I will continue to love her and have the best times with her. Just like old times.

"Now let's get ready. I have work at 11 and you have work at 1."

"You want to do something after we get off?" She asked.

I smiled to myself after I heard her ask that question.

"I'd love to." I said as continued to smile.
