THEAS POV
Of course, Kay just has to make everything awkward doesn't she.
The two had left to the kitchen a while ago and I was still lying on Nash in the sitting room.
"I'm sorry about the boys" Nash spoke, running the comfortable silence with a sentence that made me tense.
I sighed against his chest and I could see him shiver slightly. "It took me a while to even speak to them, look at them even. And then just when I think I can trust them, I find out this."
Nash sighed softly and twirled my slightly damp hair around his fingers. "What happened? The boys explained nothing so I'm still confused, sorry." He added the apology at the end and I couldn't help but smile a bit.
"It's fine, you don't have to apologise." I grabbed a pillow to hug to my chest before continuing. "You know that we were hit by a car, my mother was driving, when we were 7. I thought, we thought that our fathers left with the boys when we were born, so it wasn't the boys fault. But they left when we were 7. Me and Kay were fighting for our lives, stuck in a coma that lasted a year, and half of our family split, deciding that they had enough of us. Leaving us with a drug addict and someone who tried to kill her own daughter."
Nash breathed sharply inward, making me think that he was shocked, or angry or something, but it was hard to tell because I couldn't see his face.
"He just left you there? Your father? He left his seven year old daughter fighting for her life in a hospital bed with her mother facing trial for attempted murder? Oh god Thea, I'm so sorry."
I looked up to smile weakly at him with a soft shrug. "S'not your fault, you don't have to apologise."
He smiled sadly at me and ran his hand threw my hair. "Why did he do that?"
I sighed once more and shrugged half heartedly. "I dunno. I barely even spoke to him since I came here. I don't think I can." I whispered the last sentence, my grip tightening on Nash's shirt.
"I think you should talk to him Thea. You deserve answers. The both of you do."
I huffed and played with the brand of shirt distractedly. "Can we talk about something else please? I don't wanna think of my father right now."
Nash nodded his head and shifted underneath me, now fully lying on the couch with me on top of him, my head rested on his chest.
"Can you tell me what the panic attack was about?"
"I thought it was a dream, but it was a memory." I mumbled with my eyes closed, solely focused on his soothing heartbeat.
"What memory?" He asked as his finger traced lightly over my jawline and collarbone. My collar bone hung visible from Gilinskys shirt being so big that it drooped low.
"My first kiss." I mumbled awkwardly and Nash chuckled.
"When was it? Two years ago?" He laughed.
I rose my left eyebrow and lifted my head to look at him. "Just cause I'm no a Kayleigh, doesn't mean I didn't have my own fair share."
"Oh god" he grimaced, making me laugh before letting my head fall onto his shoulder.
"It was with my ex. We were both young, I can't remember what age. Me, Jack and, let's call him Bob, were outside when ma yelled at us to come in. We all went up to me and Jacks share room, it was a small house. We could hear the fighting of our parents and so Jack offered to play truth or dare to get our minds off it. Jack dared me to kiss Bob."
