 Chapter 9

            “And in the daylight we can hitchhike to Maine, I hope that someday I’ll see these without frames, and in the daylight I don’t pick up my phone, cause in the daylight anywhere feels like home.” I sat up in bed. Is it morning already? Great. Now, you are probably wondering, “What in the world happened last night after your cake?” Ha, that is a very good question with a very interesting answer. Let me enlighten you:

            We all finally got our pieces of cake, which I must say was the best tasting cake in the entire world! There was a ton of small talk about music, people, fans, movies, and who knows what else. The Kendall had to go up to bed and Marie and John excused themselves too. Which left me and the boys. Teddy and Nic started talking about music and after a couple minutes I got bored.

“Hey guys, not that music isn’t an interesting topic, is that all you talk about?” I asked.

“Well no, we talk about lots of other things.” Teddy answered.

“Name one.”

“Girls.”

“Besides that.”

“Uh… Nic dude help me out here” Teddy looked at him hopefully.

“Well uh we talk abo-I mean there’s always-I got it, we talk about world news.” Nic answered. Wow, he’s not being all emotional! This is good.

“Yup, sure. Give me a current world event.” I say sarcastically.

            “That one storm over the ocean. And those fires. Look at that I gave you two.” Teddy stuck his tongue out at me.

            “Wow so specific! You should be a reporter!” I roll my eyes and stuck my tongue out right back at him.

            “I suppose you know more about it than us miss hotshot smartypa-“

            “HEY! I do like to keep up with the news thank you very much.” Out of the corner of my eye I see leftover cake just sitting there… I really shouldn’t but it’s just so tempting! I turn to Teddy and start giggling.

            “What’s so funny?” Both boys look confused. I had inched my way over so I was standing perfectly next to the cake.

            “Did I mention I enjoy pranks, joking around, and riling people up?” I said cunningly.

            “Wha-AHHHH!” Teddy and Nic both screamed as I launched cake at their faces.

            “Muhahahahahahahah!” I evilly laugh. They both start chasing after me. “You’ll never catch me!” I run away, not before throwing more cake in there direction. This is the me I knew, fun, carefree, but still gets the job done. This couldn’t be going better for my first mission; hopefully it won’t get much worse than this!

            “Now we got you!” Teddy exclaims as he and Nic cornered me in the kitchen.

            “You can’t escape now you little squirrel!” Nic laughed. Wow, I think that’s the first time I’ve seen him laugh!
