"Rebecca, please talk to me." Shawn was knocking on my front door. I was sliding down on the other side, crying, holding my head in my hands. I couldn't speak. I tried, but I couldn't.
"Rebecca, please!" He started to pound harder, hurting my ears. I shook my head. Make it stop, please.
"Rebecca!" His words echoed in my ears, making me cringe at the sadness in them. I sat upright and looked around.
Nash stood over me, a brown bag and to-go cup in hand. He looked worried.
"Are you ok? You were having a nightmare." I sighed in relief, knowing it was all just a dream.
"I'm fine, thanks." I went over to my bathroom and washed my face.
"I brought you breakfast, thinking that you wouldn't want to change out of your PJ's on your day off," Nash said. I giggled, he knew me too well. I took the bag with a thank you and walked to my dining room table.
He got the remote to the T.V. and turned it on. He scrolled through what seemed like every channel available, he finally decided on Cake Boss. I rolled my eyes, knowing good and well that we will be craving cake soon.
I finished the food and we moved to the couch. I snuggled up to his side and wrapped a blanket around me. I laid my head on his shoulder and we eventually fell asleep.

I woke up on the couch, still in Nash's arms. He was still asleep, so I carefully got up and made my way to the kitchen. I was craving cake, obviously, so I was super happy when I found a box of cake mix in the pantry. I did a happy dance before getting out all the ingredients.
"Where did I put the measuring cup?" I looked all around, but couldn't find it anywhere.
"Is this what you're looking for?" Nash held up the one and only measuring cup I own above his head, a good 3 feet above me. I playful rolled my eyes, something I do a lot, and started to jump.
"Give...it...to...me!" I said between jumps. He started to laugh.
"What's the magic word?" He said, poking me on my nose. I giggled.
"Pwease?" I said, making the biggest puppy dog eyes I could muster. He sighed before handing it to me. I laughed in victory before kissing him on the cheek and beginning to measure the ingredients. He wrapped his arms around my waist and laid his chin on my shoulder.
I mixed up the batter and put it into a pan. He pretended the pan was a plane and flew it into the oven, causing me to erupt in laughter. He smiled, proud of himself, before picking me up and twirling me around.
"Hahahahahah! Put me down!" I said between laughs. Nash always knew how to make my day better.
He set me down just as the doorbell rang. I gave Nash a confused look before going to answer it.
"Felicity?" I asked, surprised at the woman standing in front of me.
"Hi. I'm sorry to interrupt, but have you seen Shawn today? He isn't answering any of my calls or texts. I'm starting to get worried."
I mentally rolled my eyes. "No, I haven't. What happened?"
"Last night, he didn't show up at the hotel until 2 a.m. I was worried sick, but he assured me he was fine. He seemed to be drunk, which made me freak out, even more, when he didn't show up at the recording studio this morning."
I sighed with frustration. I really didn't want to help Shawn, but I wanted to help Felicity.
"Look. My boyfriend is over, and I want to spend some time with him. If you don't find Shawn within 2 hours, call me. Ok? I'm sorry, but Shawn is the last person I feel like helping right now."
"Oh, ok. I'm sorry to ruin your afternoon. I'll call you, ok?" I nodded and waved before she turned around and walked to the taxi waiting at the curb.
I went back inside and found Nash waiting in the kitchen. He was taking the cake out of the oven and set in on the island before walking over to me.
"What was that about?" I rested my head on his chest, taking a deep breath.
"Nothing. Just someone from work is all. Let's just icing this cake and eat it, ok?" He nodded hesitantly before collecting all the icing.
While Nash and I icing the cake, Shawn was the only thing on my mind.
