My eyes snapped open when the leaves rustled and the wind howled against the window. I had no nightmares tonight because I was living one. Dinah hissed as the blade scraped along her neck. Her blood was a dark purple now. Mixed in with a deep red. I wanted to scream but Dinah caught my eyes and gave me a silent warning. Shut up.

"Well well well, if it isnt Miss Lauren Starr. Or should I say Lauren Jauregui?"

My voice caught in my throat. A man with dark black hair and yellow glowing eyes stood behind Dinah. His hair was combed ruffly and he wore simple clothes. A black t-shirt and black pants. His large boots making no sound. I only heard the clinging of blades ever so faint.

"Back away from her." I told him.

"Now now, is that any way to talk to your father?"

Your father.

Alexander Starr.

Here in my room.

He let out a cruel laugh. "They always say you were Cassandras child. The Starrs Child. You know her nickname was Star because she was always full of hope and wonder. She loved the stars because it proved some things could last forever."

"Dont talk about her like that. You didnt love her."

"And you dont even know her."

Dinah hissed again. The blade seemed to be going deeper and deeper into her skin. I watched in horror as Alexander grinned and sliced her neck again. The blade dripping in inchor. Dinah hissed but didnt scream. In fact a scar was already sealing.

Alexander laughed. "Thats the fun thing about this. Endarkened heal fast. Unhumanly. Its so beautiful to see that relief and peace in their eyes when they think its over. That the torture is done. And then their body heals. They wake up and they expiernce it again. The never ending loop."

That seemed to drive Dinah over the egde. "Shut up!" She whirled around punched him in the face.

He didnt even wince. In fact he let out a howl of delight. "Good. Very good. Show Lauren what you really are Dinah. Show her the killer side of you. Show her the real you. The one that killed your own mother."

Dinahs eyes widened.

"Dinah?" I asked in a small voice.

She turned to me. Her big brown eyes clouded. Alexander smirked. Ally threw open the door. "What in blazes is going on-"

Her voice faded when she saw who was there.

"Alexander." She hissed.

"Dont worry Love. Not here for Starrs Child." He turned to Dinah. "Im here for her."

In a matter of seconds he grabbed her wrist. Thunder boomed outside and then they were gone. Smoke and dust scattering in the shadow of their figures they left behind. Ally screamed but nobody was there to here it. I had already taken off running. Following the shadows.
