▪MACI▪
I am finally free from my father and my now ex boyfriend. I say all that cause they weren't the best people.
Since the day I was born I have always been in the spotlight as the daughter of one of the most feared and notorious and wealthiest businessman in the world. He has made his company a tough one to beat and is a really hard boss to work for.
I think that has always been his personality in general though cause he has always been an abusive father, both physically and mentally/emotionally.
As soon as I turned eighteen, I left and moved in with my boyfriend at the time who has recently, in the past couple of years, became a fighter.
I recently broke up with him (a little over a year ago) mostly cause he brought his work homd with him and began to hit me but also cause he cheated on me and used me to get money from my dad cause of course, he's rich, so people being with me rather friends or relationships, it has always been because they knew my dad had money.
People have always assumed my life was great because they thought my dad had always spoiled me. However it was far from the truth.
Although that is all in the past now. At least to me cause again, I have moved out and am now far away from them both.
I have been staying in a hotel for a week now and really need to find a real place to stay at. However, so far it's been hard to find something I can afford.
Which that brings me to the money issue. I have some that I have saved up throughout the years at my old job and actually have an interview in a little while at a beauty salon that I am really hoping I can get.
As soon as I arrive in front of the salon, I take in a deep breath and walk inside and hope that not only I get this job but that I get it cause of my talent, not because I share the same last name as my dad.
I walk inside and there are a total of ten Sylists and they are all busy.
Then I am greeted by a smiling and sweet receptionist.
"Hi. Welcome to The Worx." she greets me. (The 'X' in the word is in the shape of half opened shears)
"Hi. How are you?" I asked.
"I'm good thank you, how are you?" She says.
"I'm good thanks." I reply.
"Do you have an appointment?" She asks me.
"I actually am here for to see Alexis for an interview." I tell her.
"Oh okay. Please take a seat and I'll be right back." She smiles.
"Thanks." I reply and then take a seat on one of the chairs to wait.
Then a few minutes later, I see a woman walking out who has a pixie cut with purple in her hair along with tattoos all over and is dressed rockabilly.
"Hi. I'm Lexi." She walks up to me.
"Nice to meet you." I reply as I stand up and we shake hands.
We then begin heading towards the back towards her office and after she closes the door behind her, we take a seat across from each other.
"So, before we start. Can I ask you something?" She begins.
"Of course." I reply.
"I just need to understand something. Why would you want to work here or work at all when you are rich?" She asks.
"Because I'm not rich, my father is. And I wanted to do something that would distance myself from him." I replied.
"It's that bad huh?" She asks.
"You have no idea." I reply.
"Well I have got to say that I really admire you for not being a spoiled rich bitch that walks in here and wants to do this only to piss off your parents who really wanted you to become a doctor instead. Because I don't care where you come from or who you are. This business is about passion and making people feel and look better. Now, through your resume you had emailed me, you sent me also your portfolio of what you've done and I have to say that you're really talented and I would love to have you work here at my salon." She says.
"Seriously? I have the job?" I asked.
"If you want it. But again, rich or not, don't make me regret this." She warns me.
"I understand and I promise you won't." I assure her.
"Great! Well then, welcome aboard." She says as she smiles, stands up and we shake hands again.
"So how soon would I be able to start?" I ask.
"Tomorrow morning. And before you start on anyone, you'll need to show me a few hairstyles and cuts and a certain color for tomorrow. Everyone goes through it before they get their own booth just to be reassured that I'm not being bullshitted." She says.
"Fair enough. I will be here tomorrow." I assure her.
"Good. Then I'll see you at 8 AM." She says.
"See you then." I reply. "And thanks again." I tell her.
"See ya then." She smiles.
I then turn and start to leave with a huge smile on my face knowing that I will have a really good job, seeing as to how she has five stars out of thousands of reviews from people on Yelp.
I got everything ready for tomorrow and grabbed some Chinese food, watched a movie on Netflix and then went to sleep.
This was the greatest way to start off the new life I was wanting. Now all I need to worry about is finding a place to stay with decent rent, but one step at a time.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
