MACI

Have you ever looked back at something you did or something that happened in your life where you later on asked yourself, 'what the hell was I thinking?' Well, that was me.

After the FBI came bursting through the door, gunfire was all around us and I was just in my knees, cradling head in my lap as he was bleeding from his side.

I thought I would lose him that night and I almost did. But his stubborn ass wouldn't allow that to happen.

A couple of weeks after he was finally released from the hospital, he told me that he refused to leave me without first giving me the life I deserved and making me the happiest woman alive.

The trial lasted a month and the jury as well as the judge had sentenced my father, Arthur, as well as Lee when he got out of the hospital along with all their men that were still alive, they were all sent to different prisons. Each got life without parole.

I used to be sad when I was a little girl and I'd hear all my friends talk about stuff they did with their dads and even going to daughter and father dances. I used to be jealous.

After seeing my dad in court and after testifying against him I no longer allowed him to have that title of me calling him dad. He never earned it. To him I was just another way to make money.

I can't believe I was so naive about Lee. I made sure to let his wife know how much I appreciated her telling Henry and them where I was at. I will forever be grateful to her and I also let her know that I was sorry about Lee and that she didn't deserve any of the shit he said and did to her.

It's now been a couple years since everything happened and both Henry and I are going strong.

You're probably wondering if him and I are married and have kids. Well, hate to disappoint you but, neither of us want to rush into anything. I mean don't get me wrong, he did propose to me a few months ago. But he just recently opened up his own restaurant and I myself have become partners with Lexi and we have opened up a beauty school that is right next door from her salon.

So far life is great and I am very grateful for how things turned out.

HENRY

Wow! I can't believe it's been a couple of years since all this went down.

I mean damn, life has a way of throwing  damn spikes in the road when you least expect it but man do I love it when I know I can and will survive anything with Maci right there by my side.

She's not like any other woman I've ever known. She is amazing beyond words.

I have opened up my own restaurant while also training teenagers in UFC fighting at Karls' gym.

Whenever I look at the scar from the bullet wound I got that night, I don't think about how I got it as far as who shot at me. All I see is that it reminds me of the night I saved my girls' life.

I never thought I would ever be the guy that got to live his dreams and have a beautiful woman by his side for the ride. But I guess I was proved wrong. I guess that some people really do deserve a second chance and I am so lucky that I'm one of them.

Now all that's left to do is to give Maci my last name, some kids and all eternity. I can't wait to grow old with her as I will still love her no less rather her hair is grey or not.

She will always be the one who has my heart.

She's the one that turned me from a fighter not a lover....to a lover not a fighter.
