Thirty Four | Backfire

“Please get back together with him, it was wrong of me to butt in between you two. I promise I’ll be gone but please take care of him.” 

“Are you kidding me? What you are saying is beyond absurd!”

"They say it's short term memory loss, I gathered all the courage that I could muster to come here and talk to you, so please."

"Why did he even have that short term memory loss anyway?"

"It was because of the love potion I gave him, it had side effects." I stared at her wide-eyed.

"Love potion? You gave him some love potion?" My blood surged, so it was all a trick of sorcery.

So was it all the fault of Soojung? Was I too wrong to let go of Jaehyun too quickly?

"I did, remember when he started to slack off when you decide to hang out? It all started when I gave him the potion a month ago."

"You did all that horrendous doing and you have the guts to face me?! I'm sorry Soojung, but you are such a horrible person." She lowered her head looking so pale and so vulnerable.

"I know, I know that. I'm such a horrible person for ruining the lives of other people." She was pouring her eyes out.

The people who were passing by were looking at us curiously. I don't care if they think that I'm making the girl cry because of what I did but it all backfired to her.

"But you know what Dani? At some point, he found out that I was pouring a small amount of the potion in his drink each week."

"He stopped me right then, saying all I was doing was wrong." Of course he'd think of it as wrong because it truly is.

"You really made such a bad choice."

"I thought he was going to be mad, that he'll leave and go back to you to tell you everything after knowing everything. But he didn't, he told me that everything that I got us into was wrong, but he said that he was starting to see me as a person who can be liked."

"He said that he was unsure of his feelings for you." I thought that I was finally going to forgive and understand Jaehyun, but what Soojung said clearly pushed me to throw away all the left feelings I had for him.

"I've had enough, why are you telling me all this? I already set him free."

"I just don't know what to do, you're the only person who can make him stable right now. He tried to kill himself too many times already, please just bring him back. I'll leave after that, I swear I won't meddle with your lives anymore."

"You brought this problem to him so you should be the one to fix it." I spat out the last word that I wanted to let out because I totally wanted to walk out and clear my head.

"I did everything I could, I thought that he would heal with time but he tries to take his life whenever he gets the chance in a single day, I can't take it that he suffers so much anymore."

"I hope you learned your lesson Soojung. You should not have forced things, now Jaehyun is paying the price." I stood up from my seat and walked away from her.

"Kim Dani!" She called out.

I only stopped but I never turned back around to face her.

"Please see him, at least once."

I then continued to walk back to where Sunny and the boys were.
