Chapter 14: Wake Up!

[Uncle Sam's Story]

Confronting Over-watch had to be done but how do we do it without her killing us?

I stepped forwards towards while trying to seems as non-threatening as was possible while at the same time blocking the children from any attacks.

"I believe it would not be wise for you to destroy us without listening to our stories," I pleaded with her, "If you choose to destroy us after what we will tell you, then we'll and good but, if you do not, you will later rejoice for having done so."

Over-watch seemed to be in deep thought for a while but then motioned for us to sit down then she looked at us suspiciously then she motioned for me to go on and said, "Go on."

I immediately started by telling her how I had noticed a few things were off for I could not remember how I got back to Earth and I am one who never forgets. How I tried to use the tiny Lwanda and it did not work.
How I heard a voice threatening me that as soon as I woke up I would face the music. How I had tried to get help from my dream world's Mike & Rose and how finally I called upon her and upon the Lamb until the lamb finally appeared.
How the Lamb had told me all that I needed to do in order to be finally free from this.
How I had gone on to free the two children.

The children went on to tell her how they always felt the way they had gotten back to the earth and the way their lives were was a bit off and how when I appeared they knew it was me and trusted me and how their other selves disappeared when they did as I had asked them to.

Over-watch listened carefully to what we had to say and when we finally concluded we noticed how conflicted she was - it seemed to us there was a great battle within her.

She finally spoke, "I am having great difficulty in this - one side I have a wonderful life that I have lived here and it has been many years but you would have me believe that I am still stuck in a dreadful world, dreaming?"

"The second thing; I am married to the most wonderful man in the whole universe and you would have me doubt him?" Over-watch continued.

Then she said, "The only thing that is stopping me from blasting you people is that if what you are saying is true the all this is a lie and I would rather live the truth than a lie."

At that point we were wondering what more we could say to Over-watch to make her believe us when all of a sudden we were all startled by a voice, "Hey! What is going on here?"

Up on the balcony was a second Sam and he looked as confused as Over-watch was.

When the second Sam came down, he looked me up and down and then said, "This is an imposter, blast them!"

I looked at him and then spoke softly to Over-watch, "I do not know how to convince you otherwise but I know that when the children wished the fake away with all their hearts, the fakes disappeared."

"So what I am saying look at me and wish me away with all your heart and if I do not disappear then go on and do the same to the other," I requested and Over-watch seemed to be agreeing but before she could do so, the other Sam can and held her tightly from behind and said, "I don't think so, I will not let you wish me away."

When he did that I said, "Buddy the highest is up, if Over-watch had wished me gone with all her heart then that is exactly what would have happened but you fell for it and boy aren't you in trouble."

Over-watch's eyes looked as if they were made of lightning then she whispered certain words and lightning came from above and struck the fake uncle Sam to ashes!
