Moonlight was dim tonight due to the light fog that had descended upon the town. Alexander aided their vision with an old fashioned flashlight- like the ones from the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys' books. Truthfully it would have been smarter to come back the following morning but the anticipation was killing the both of them. They had parked Alexander's Impala in the usual place and then searched near the cliff for a relatively safe way to climb down. It was a steep climb down but they took their time as they scaled down the side of the cliff and down to the ground. Thankfully the car and the body were in the exact same positions as before.
"I'll use my phone light to search the body and you can search the car." Daisy explained
They both slipped on a pair of black leather gloves and went to work searching the crime scene.

Daisy felt disrespectful for taking a picture of the dead man but it could aid them in the investigation now and potentially down the road. She didn't recognize him. She firstly checked his pockets, they contained: his wallet, car keys, cell phone, a pack of cigarettes, and a container of mints. Upon thorough investigation of his wallet she found a few interesting items. The first was an old picture showing the victim and a smiling girl with her arms wrapped around him. The second was a plain piece of paper with a random series of numbers written on it. Lastly was a business card for a women's shelter in Pine View (the next town over where Jasmine, Dante and Penelope lived). She was about to check his phone next but the sudden appearance of headlights in the distance startled her and she slipped it into her pocket. She was frozen in fear.

Alexander didn't find anything interesting- it was a pretty standard vehicle and nothing was hidden in any compartments. The only thing that caught his attention was a GPS that was attached to the window. It was odd in this day and age with all the technological advancements to have a need for an actual GPS system. Thinking it could aid in the investigation he loosened it from the window and took the charger for it as well. He dropped it into his backpack and was thankful he had because as soon as he finished zipping up the backpack a pair of headlights flashed in the distance. He too was frozen in fear and looked over to see Daisy crouched completely still. If they hurried they might be able to find a decent hiding place in the nearby wood before the vehicle arrived. When Daisy made eye contact with him he motioned for her to follow him and with that they scurried into the nearby woods.

The black sports car from earlier re-appeared. Same driver too and still unable to make out their face. They opened the trunk of the sports car and procured a red gas can. Next they emptied the gas onto the dead man's car and body. To ignite the gas they took a cigarette from their pocket, put it in their mouth, lit it using a match and then threw the burning match onto the car. It was like a scene from a movie. And like that they were gone.

"We need to call the police and give them the anonymous tip right now." Alexander pleaded
"I agree. I'll call them right now and we will have plenty of time to vanish before the authorities arrive." Daisy replied
...
"We need to check out this GPS and his cell phone. I think it would help us out as well if we had Dante, Penelope and Jasmine to assist." Alexander said
"I will message them when I get home and let them know. Also if they update with me anything I will be sure to let you know. I just hope we aren't in over our heads. I never thought this is how things would turn out." Daisy confessed
"We are dealing with a murderer, drugs, a kidnapping and who knows what else we will found out. I'm here for you no matter what happens and if things get too intense we can always give all our information anonymously to the police. I think we need a break from all of this. I'm going to take you on a special night out next weekend. What do you say?" Alexander continued
"I know I can be stubborn and determined at times but I absolutely agree with everything you just said. We can only do so much. I'd love a date night away from everything." Daisy replied
"Sounds like a plan. I'll keep you updated on what the plans are as the week progresses. Daisy I love you so much and I'll always be here for you. You make me so happy and my life has become a lot more exciting since you came into it. I know all that just sounded super cliché but it is true." Alexander said
Daisy leaned over and kissed him as they drove off into the foggy night.
