Alexander hadn't imagined that he'd be the life of the party that evening. It was amazing how people treated you when they were intoxicated and you were looking "different." Kevin Packard's demeanor surprised him the most out of all those in attendance. Cry Little Sister from The Lost Boys blared through the speakers in the living room- not really a party song but a great song nonetheless. Everyone started to dance oddly and drunkenly to the 80's jam.
"Hey! Langdon! Come do a keg stand." Kevin yelled
You are underage, Alexander thought to himself. Yes, but you could also get information and fit in better just this evening he argued back in his head. Against his better judgment he decided he would go along with the keg stand, but only one. Kevin along with a few other familiar faces from school held Alexander as he started to chug the alcohol. The beer was poor quality and left a horrible taste in his mouth but he continued on. It seemed like an eternity before they set him down. His few minutes of fame earned him shouts and a few rough pats on the back. Alexander needed some fresh air so he stumbled to the backyard. An even wilder party was happening in and around the pool. Somewhat similar music was blasting from waterproof speakers in the pool. Strobe lights flashed in time with the beats of the music and blinded him as he stumbled his way around. Kevin suddenly appeared behind Alexander and spun him around. His breath reeked of alcohol. He offered up a silent prayer that things would be okay.
"You know you aren't as weird as I thought you were. You are actually pretty chill." Kevin said
"Um thanks. Yeah this party is pretty awesome, I mean it is my first party so I can't really judge. Did you come alone?" Alexander asked
"Nah bro I came with Janet- I mean I know the party is at her place but we are an item so it makes sense. She is wild, let me tell you what." Kevin answered
"Eh, no thanks. Wait, I thought you were dating Alice Andrews?"
"I got sick of her and she was way too needy. Super over-protective and clingy too. Always accusing me of cheating... and technically I guess I have been these past few weeks since I started seeing Janet while still with Alice. But who cares about Alice, it is the weekend so time for me to relax and party it up with my little vixen." Kevin explained
"Yeah women sure are complicated dude. But aren't you still concerned about Alice's disappearance?" Alexander questioned
"I guess slightly but I'm trying to move on from my past. Man you are sort of being a buzzkill now so I'm going back inside." Kevin said
Alexander watched Kevin stumble back towards the house. He was definitely still a little buzzed and it was affecting his coordination but not his speech/thought process. The alcohol was starting to settle and Alexander's vision started to become hazy. He also needed to urinate so he slowly made his way to the upstairs bathroom. Alexander tripped over a few stairs and swore that he could have heard sirens and saw flashing red lights.
...
This is where everything meets back up again...
Daisy frantically searched for Alexander but she couldn't find him anywhere on the ground floor or in the backyard. She would need to find him quickly or find a secure hiding place and pray he made it away safely. A loud crack sounded in the backyard as the wooden gate was kicked open. Panicked she decided to head upstairs in a desperate final attempt to locate Alexander. The upstairs portion was a bit quitter and she could hear the faint sounds of vomiting. She was relieved yet also concerned to see Alexander on his knees hovering over the toilet. Daisy rushed into the bathroom, shut the door behind her and locked it.
"You told me to fit in tonight so I did a keg stand. I'm really regretting it at the moment."
"If we don't find a way out of here we are going to have plenty more regrets. I think we both can squeeze through the bathroom window. I'll assist you but we can't go to my car straight away. "
Daisy assisted Alexander to his feet and then shut off the lights in the bathroom. She unlocked the window and peered out to survey the scene. She saw one officer prowling around the back gate. If they went to the right of the house they could hopefully drop down and be in the clear.
"I'm going to climb out the window first and then I will assist you but we have to be as stealthy as possible."
"Like James Bond."
"Yes you goob, like James Bond."
Daisy stealthily climbed out the bathroom window, checked her surroundings and then motioned for Alexander to join her. He made it through the window just as simple as she did (which surprised her). They were in the clear for now. Crouching she surveyed the right side of the house- it was a higher jump but possible. She went first and landed safely but she was concerned about Alexander's jump and their time left to get away. Alexander's jump didn't really count cause he sort of just stumbled off the roof but luckily he had Daisy to clumsily catch him. He leaned on her shoulder as they made their escape into the nearby woods.
...
"I'm going to drop you off at home and make sure you get to your room safely."
"I appreciate it. I have information to tell you as well."
"That can wait until later. I have things to tell you also. I'm going to come over tomorrow and help nurse your hangover. You are a lightweight haha."
"I know. Daisy, I love you. Thanks for having me over for dinner and taking me to a party."
"I love you too. Sorry the dinner sucked but at least the party was interesting."
Daisy tucked Alexander into his bed and kissed him on his forehead. She glanced at the clock beside his bed- it read midnight, hopefully her parents weren't still awake. She climbed out his window and headed towards her car. Once again she failed to notice the figure watching her from the shadows...
