"I'm extremely nervous for the dinner at your place tomorrow night."

"I honestly don't blame you. My dad is a judgmental, over protective douche-canoe so just allow me to do most of the talking when possible. My mother is a sweetheart but a pushover. It makes for an interesting combination."

"Well I must confess that I am also nervous about the party. I have no idea how we are going to fit in with anyone attending."

"Like I said earlier, don't worry about that. Just focus on the dinner and be yourself because you are truly one of the nicest boys I have ever dated."

...

"So Alexander, tell me a little bit about yourself." Nick Miller asked

"Well Mr. Miller I moved to this town a few months ago from Boston Massachusetts. My dad works for a major corporation that specializes in technology and communication. My mom recently picked up a part time job working as a secretary. I'm a senior as well."

"Very interesting. Tell me what your plans after school are." Nick Miller continued

"I'm not quite sure where I will be attending college, but I really enjoy graphic design, photography and writing so I am planning on going into a program that involves the arts."

"Ever hear of the phrase starving artist. Do you honestly think you would be able to provide for yourself- let alone a family when you have one?" Nick chided

"Dad. I think that is enough questions for now. Why don't you tell Alexander a little about yourself." Daisy intervened

"Don't try to defend him or change the subject. I'm trying to help him out in picking a good career. It is a dog eat dog world and you can't survive from being a prissy artist. Especially if he isn't even a good one at that." Nick remarked

"Honey you didn't mean to say that. Please excuse my husband's behavior, Alexander." Holly said

Alexander could feel the mix of anger and sadness build up inside of him. Clawing at his brain. To escape the embarrassment he excused himself to the bathroom. Once the door was locked he turned the water on to muffle out the sounds of his sobs. He then splashed cold water on his face and dried it off on the nearby hand towel.

...

"You are such a prick! He was being honest and open with you about his plans and you shoot him down. Way to make a great first impression. I think we are going to go to the school event early tonight." Daisy yelled

The bathroom door opened and the wood floors creaked as Alexander made his way back into the dining room. He took his seat at the table.

"Thank you both so much for dinner tonight. It was nice meeting the both of you." Alexander said

"It was a pleasure to meet you too! You are such a sweet boy and our daughter is so lucky to have you." Holly chimed

Silence from Nick Miller...

"Alexander I was just telling my parents that we were heading to the school event early. If you don't mind I would like to go now." Daisy said

"I'll say my goodbyes and then we can head out of here."

Alexander stood up, walked over to Nick Miller and shook his hand firmly. He did the same to Holly Miller. He helped Daisy out of her chair and they headed towards the front door.

"Keep my daughter safe tonight." Nick said as they headed out

"Yes sir." Alexander replied

The night air was cool and the moon was full. Daisy pulled out her car keys and jangled them in front of Alexander's face. He turned to face her.

"We are taking my car tonight. I have a surprise to show you. I also cannot express how sorry I am for the way my father treated you." Daisy said

Alexander embraced her tightly and let out a few faint sobs. Once they let go she placed her hand on his cheek tenderly and kissed him. She used her thumb to wipe a stray tear away.

"I love you." Daisy said

"I love you more." Alexander teased

...

Daisy's surprise was a great advantage for the party that night. She had purchased a keg of beer illegally but Alexander didn't question her about the matter. His anxiousness increased as they reached Janet's house. He would just have to trust Daisy and utter a silent prayer. Heavy electronic music assaulted his ears as he stepped out of Daisy's car. They were definitely out of their element.

"Alright so here is the game plan. First off we need to change our outfits we seriously look like depressed early 2000's teens. Secondly after we change I'd like you to take the keg into the party and present it to the party goers. Thirdly enjoy yourself (but not too much) and try to acquire some information so we don't come here in vain."

She handed Alexander a plastic bagged filled with his "disguise/new outfit." The contents contained: a pair of tight skinny jeans, sunglasses, Nike shoes, and a tank top that had the words "Turnt" plastered on it along with a rainbow marijuana leaf decal. Daisy's new outfit consisted of: tight jean shorts, rainbow sunglasses, flip flops and a shirt that had the words "Bitchin'" plastered on it. They were so stereotypical it almost made him sick. With keg in hand they made their way towards the front door of Janet's house. They were bombarded with cigarette smoke, flashing lights, and laughter as they entered the home. Truly a suburban rave like they portrayed in the movies. Alexander walked to the middle of the living room while dodging gyrating teen bodies.

"Who is ready to get their drink on!" Alexander yelled

Everyone let out a cheers and shouts and for a moment Alexander's anxiety vanished.

...

"Hey Janet, this party is pretty awesome!" Daisy said

"I never would have expected to see Daisy Miller at a high school party. What is the special occasion?" Janet asked

"I just got sick of my boring old life at home on the weekends so I decided to switch things up a bit. Besides this one wasn't by invitation only, so when in Rome." Daisy answered

"Well make yourself comfortable and enjoy yourself. We have a full selection of alcohol in the kitchen, a pool in the backyard and the upstairs portion of the house is reserved for hookups." Janet explained

"Good to know. I'm surprised you are throwing this wild of a party and this late at night- I mean with the curfew and all that." Daisy remarked

"Oh please. The cops are acting like some weirdo kidnapped Alice but I bet she is just doing this for attention. She is probably desperate to keep her popularity since it was starting to decline."

"Do you really think she would do something this drastic just for attention? What do you mean her popularity was declining?" Daisy inquired

"I don't even know why I am telling you this , like you really care or need to know but I like your "new Daisy vibes." Okay so as you may or may not know her relationship with Kevin Packard has been a constant rollercoaster. Well a few weeks before her supposed disappearance she found out that Kevin was seeing me- she approached me in the girls locker and freaked out on me. Honestly she is a crazy bitch and I'm glad she is missing."

"That is definitely a lot to process. You don't honestly mean that though."

"Daisy honey I may have had a few too many drinks but I am still in control of how I feel about people in this town. She is psycho and I believe with all my heart she is doing this for attention. Now if you will excuse me, Kevin is making eyes at me and I must beckon to his call."

Daisy hadn't expected for Janet Byers to be that open with her and the combination of new appearance and alcohol definitely helped Daisy. She started to question if Janet was possible of sinister ulterior motives. Her thought process was broken by shouting and flashings red lights... the police had shown up.
