The seatmate.
Solving math problems was truly difficult. It was algebra that I had to face. I didn't know that I had to face another.
The next class teacher came in. It was Civics class and the teacher told us that we were going to have groupings. (break break: I don't like groupings. It will just separate me to my new target.) The teacher told us that she will have another style of groupings. The members of our group are the ones who are in our row. Amazing! (heart heart again) We were three in the row. A student on my left was my elementary classmate. I always call her Jane, because that was her name. (I also strategically sat with her because, you know, secret outlet.) The teacher told two other students to transfer seats. (volcanic eruption) One of them is a new student, Lansing. She's fine and OK to sit beside Winston. However, the one beside Jane was part of my grim past. A dark past.
Her name was Topaz, but we call her Barracuda. Some people think she is a barracuda. I don't know why. Hmmm. Perhaps the past will help me remember. She is opportunistic. She took advantage of my kindness when we were in the fifth grade. She pretended to help me but it turned out she was a traitor in her own right. She only thought of herself. She used my name to get the guy we like. (I met her in my elementary days...Yes, I already had crushes, but minimal.) I don't want to think about it anymore...now that the past is coming back to me. Sadly, she and I were of the same group. "Should I talk first or should I wait for her? Will my kindness overthrow me?" We've never talked for a long time.
The other group member, Lansing, was a normal-looking girl. Surprise, surprise...she eats crayons. What? Yes, you heard me write. This is great. This group is just great. She demonstrated her "supernatural powers" while we were forming a circle. (Roll call: Barracuda, Outlet of Secrets, Winston, Lansing the Crayon-Eating Girl, and me...sigh) What’s in store for me?
