I continued. I asked him if he could sign on a slam book. He directly said no. He said that he didn’t do things like that. Before I could continue saying that it is for an English class project (Yes, blame the imaginary class project), I got very shy that I smiled and turned away. Emily asked me why he didn’t sign. (Should I tell her the truth?)

“He said he was busy.” I lied. (sigh)

Her energy went down like a candle fire blown by the sudden gush of wind. That day ended with confusion. I wanted to tell the truth but it will just hurt her feelings. Besides, I didn’t have a lot of chances to talk to Todd (heart to heart). Maybe in another day. Day ended.

Cutting classes.

Warden and Maddie wanted to be absent in a class. I went with them to a small billiard hall, with one billiard table, near our school. Jislaaik! I experienced and felt like a baddie. But I thought what they were about to do wasn’t good. I felt it wasn’t good for me knowing that I only received a not so great allowance. You needed to pay in order to play.

The place has an aura of serenity (for a high school student who wanted to take a rest. It was near a house…probably the owner’s. Plants surround us. Near the gate…is a beautifully arranged colorful snacks in a variety of forms. The female seller, who looked like a middle-aged one, sat down while knitting.

It was almost time for class. The Jesters (Maddie and Warden) were still playing. I told them that I had to go. I invited them to go to class, but they chose to stay. I felt pity for their parents. I hoped their parents were rich. I wanted to stay but like a motorbike, I veered. I chose what was right. I had conscience.

(In your case, would you like to stay with them or go to class?)
