*╚═══❖•ೋ° °ೋ•❖═══╝*Her hand was shaking as she reached for the doorknob. She was hesitating about going home or not. She knew that she could just run away anytime that she desired. But she's not that stupid to actually do it.
She knew that she wouldn't be able to survive on her own. She was too frail and weak and unable. She always needed the opinion of others even though they're usually negative.
She twisted the knob and gave a light push to the door, only to reveal a man on top of her aunt. They were both wearing nothing, their slimy and sticky skin rubbing against each other.
The horrid sounds. The moans and groans and grunts that echoed throughout the cabin. She tried to cover her ears, closing her eyes shut.
She couldn't do it. She closed it back and ran. She ran away as far as possible from the monstrosity that she's seen.
Her innocence has been taken away from her a long time ago. And this could only make it worse. It disgusted her. She couldn't bare to watch anymore. She regretted opening that door.
She ran back to dock, as fast as she could possibly go, to the only place where she found happiness and peace and home and love.
She stopped running when the dock was finally in her vision. Her chest was heaving and multiple beads of sweat have been formed on her temples. Her heart was beating fast.
It was empty, he wasn't there anymore.
Her heart sunk a little when she saw that he already left. A small part of her wanted him to still be there even though it's already late in the night.
She slowly made her way to the edge of the dock. Putting aside her red converse highs as she sat down on the wooden planks.
She wiggled her toes in the water, her reflection rippling as she created tiny waves.
She smiled.
She smiled as a tear escaped from her sockets, trickling down to her red cheeks and to her quivering lips. It finally drips, clashing itself with the fresh water of the lake.
The water ripples once more. This time, breaking the reflection of the moonlight. The lake sparkled as it reflected the ocean of stars above her.
“Why am I like this?” She thought to herself as she let out even more tears. “Of all the people in the world...why me?”
She laid her back on the wooden planks, her legs still hanging on the edge. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as random thoughts went surging through her mind.
Should I have made that promise?
What good will that bring me?
I'll only suffer even more.
But he looked so sincere.
I trust him.
I trust that he wouldn't hurt me, not like the other people I trusted in the past.
I trust that he would never let go of me.
I hope he won't.
I hope all this suffering would just end.
