*╚═══❖•ೋ° °ೋ•❖═══╝*She stayed in her room for the whole night, afraid to go out. Afraid that something might happen yet again. She couldn't sleep, she couldn't even close her eyes.
She was scared that the moment she opened them, all of it would happen again.
“Do whatever you want with her.”
That sentence kept replaying inside her head like a broken record. She knew that her aunt was wicked, but she never knew that she was the actual devil. Her aunt sold her neice's body to a stranger.
She cried all night. Letting out soft sobs, afraid that she might wake her aunt up and she would punish her for it. Her lips were unconsciously quivering, shaking from fear. She was traumatized.
She couldn't take it anymore. She had to do something before what happened earlier happens again, or something of the sort. She had to run.
She had to run away and never come back. She doesn't care that she won't be able to survive on her own anymore. All she wanted was freedom from her suffocating life under the same roof with her aunt.
She limped her way to her cabinet, her fragile legs shaking. She held grip onto the handle, slowly pulling the cabinet door, revealing her clothes with dust and cobwebs.
She reached for an old bag that was laid down, it was black with highlights of white and blue. She unzipped the bag and grabbed a bunch of her clothes, as many as she could fit inside it.
She zipped it close and swung it over her shoulder. She grabbed a hoodie and put it on. She wore a pair of boots and denim jeans. She put the hood over her head.
Just as she was about to climb out of the window, she remembered something. His hoodie.
She hurriedly took it from her bedside drawer. Her heart started pounding as she heard footsteps from outside her bedroom. “Baby?” Her aunt called out for her, softly knocking on the door.
She's heard it all before, all the pretentious acts her aunt pulled off. She couldn't care less anymore.
She ran to the window, safely climbing up and just as she was about to climb down, the door opened. Their eyes met. Her indignant eyes meeting with her aunt's guilty.
“Baby!” Her aunt called out, eyes filling up with tears. But she was too late.
She quickly climbed down and ran away. She ran away as fast as possible. She knew exactly what she wanted, what she needed. She needed him. His comfort.
But when she reached the dock, it was expected, he wasn't there. She sat down at the edge, her boots placed beside her. Now she can finally sleep.
She can close her eyes and nothing bad will happen to her. She was on the dock of a lake in the middle of the forest. She was happy.
She laid down on her right, using her backpack as a pillow and his hoodie as a blanket. She closed her eyes and had a peaceful sleep.
