“You're still awake.” He said, walking towards her who was laid down on her back with her hands at the back of her head. He stood above her head, looking down so they made eye contact.

“You're here.” She wore a bright smile but it soon faltered as she saw the bag that he was carrying. “What's with the bag?”

“I wanted to stay with you here.” He took the bag off and placed it on the wooden plank as he laid down on his back as well. “You know, just in case something bad happens to you.”

She chuckled, returning her gaze to the starry night sky. It mesmerized her. The way that the stars would twinkle and the light would illuminate the fresh water of the crystalline lake.

She didn't look at him but in her peripheral vision, she could see him looking at her with a smile.

“Stop looking at me like that.” She said, she was annoyed but at the same time, she didn't want him to stop.

“Like what?”

“Like you love me or something.” She turned to her right, purposely meeting eyes with him. “You're looking at me with heart eyes.”

She was only teasing but she would very much like it if he'd return the feelings she had for him. And so he did.

He leaned in closer, while both of their eyes flutter shut. They both felt their hearts pounding inside their chests, the electrifying feeling they both kept having. They felt it as their lips crashed into each other.

It felt as if they never had a single problem, as if they had everything they wanted in the world.

They both pulled away. A smile formed on his face as he saw that her eyes were tightly shut. She opens one eye, still not believing what happened.

“What just happened?”

He chuckled before saying, “I love you.” He cupped her two puffy cheeks, making her frown.

“What did you say?”

He leaned in for another quick kiss before he pulled away with a warm smile on his face. “I love you, pretty.”

She didn't even notice it but she was squealing like a pig in front of him, her face turning to a red hue. He, himself, couldn't contain her cuteness and blushed as well.

They were in love.
