“You're awake.” He said, sitting down at the edge of the dock. He was enjoying the beautiful scenery of the forest lake as the sun rose up. It was the most beautiful thing he's witnessed over the course of several years.

He looked down to the female figure who was having a difficult time of opening her eyes. She was still drowsy due to the limited amount of sleep that she's had.

She had no energy at all but when she saw the bright smile that was plastered on his bruised face, she could immediately feel the electricity running down her spine.

She sat up, stretching her two frail arms outwards as she yawned. “Did you sleep well?” She asked, her eyes still half open as she turned to face him.

He simply shook his head, a smile still visible as he bit his lower lip. His gaze returned to the sunrise, admiring the slight magenta hue in the sky.

He flinched as he felt her head suddenly rest on his shoulder. He looked down to see her face, still baffled by her precipitous actions. He once again, flinched as he felt a soft hand entwine with his. Now he was more than baffled.

“Don't move.” She said, her gaze fixated on the sunrise. “My head hurts.”

She didn't know. She was too happy to know. That he was suffering, from his father's answer to his question. From his sister's sudden change of heart. From his mother and brother's heart wrenching deaths.

He was smiling through it all so that she wouldn't notice it. So that she wouldn't be affected by his emotions and thoughts.

The statement he said about wanting to live. He wasn't sure if he wanted to do it anymore. He wanted to give up.

The statement she said about wanting to die. She wasn't sure if she wanted to do it anymore. She wanted to stay by his side.

She turned around as she heard a ringing from inside her backpack. She quickly reached for her bag. She unzipped the front pocket where her phone was located.

She swiped the green button to receive the call and put it over her ear.

“Hello?”

“Baby?”

“Who is this?”

“It's me, baby. Auntie.”

“What do you want from me? Do you need my body for more money? Or do you need someone to take your anger out on?”

“No, baby. I'm really sorry. I want you to go home. Please.”

She sighed, she really didn't want to deal with her right now. She could sense that her aunt's voice was shaking but she also knew that it was all just merely another one of her acts to fool her.

So she could gain the young lady's trust to only let her down for the nth time.

“No.” She coldly replied.

“I'm...” She looked up at him who was also looking at her but in disbelief as he heard everything that she said over the phone. “...Happy where I am.”

“Baby- I'm sorry. Let me make up to you I swear I'll-”

She hung up. She ended the call without giving her aunt a chance to explain herself and the fact that he was able to witness it all, it hurt him.
