"Well isn't someone earlier than me today?" She jokingly said, a smile plastered across her features as she walked towards him at the edge of the dock. "How was your day?"

He looked up to see her face. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of what he depicted what an actual angel would look like. His chapped lips curving upwards.

"Terrible as always." He replied, his attention returning to the view of the crystal clear lake. "You?"

She sat next to him and offered him the warmest smile she could possibly show. "Same."

They felt comfortable next to each other. They related with each other on a whole other level. A level on which even the happiest person on earth couldn't reach. They felt sympathy towards one another.

She turned to him. She had something in mind and she didn't want to do it alone, no more loneliness. She didn't want any more.

"Say..."

He turned to her direction as he heard her sweet voice from his right ear. He raised his eyebrows to signal her that he was all ears.

"...How about we take a walk for a change?"

He shrugged his shoulders, his head nodding up and down. His smile once again flashed and the bruise on his lips wasn't left unnoticed.

She saw it. She saw the purplish hue that marked him. She saw the small cut and her heart was strangely responding towards it. She was hurt just by seeing him smiling no matter how awful his life was.

He became her inspiration and motivation. She wanted to stay strong for the male that was sitting beside her, even though she never had to.

They both stood up, lifting both of their frail bodies up. She slipped, her foot slipped and she almost fell. But he caught her.

He caught her before she fell in the water. The cold, cold water. His hands wrapped around her slim waist.

And for the first time, she felt safe.

For the first few moments, they were just intently staring into each other’s eyes. Their eyes twinkled at each other's sight and presence. A spark has been formed.

She tapped on his arms that were still wrapped around her. She tried to let out normal words but only ended up making weird sounds escape from her lips. “Uuhh... You... C-can...”

She gulped down her nervousness. He soon realizes what she was trying to say and immediately let go of her.

They tried to laugh it off but they both know how awkward it was, it was more awkward than it should've been.

“You should be more careful next time.” He said, scratching the back of his head while he wore a big smile. “You.. Almost fell.”

“Honestly, it would've been fine if I fell.” She nonchalantly said, forcing a smile to form on her face. She chuckled even though she knew her statement was dark and disturbing. “You would've ended all my suffering for me.”

He could only look at her in worry. He didn't want her to die. He didn't want her to end her own life. She became something important to him.

He doesn't want to let her go.
