The Battle

Here I am again, time hardly spent.
Watching people walk by my door,
Shadows you cannot see anymore.

But when I saw you, you look so full of life.
Strides long and hair brightly reflecting the light.

But as you came closer I saw something lagging behind.
As you ventured closer, I saw the devil in your eyes.
Eyes that looked to be in turmoil.

A fight I may presume.

Something trying to take control of your body.
I can see the real you that is rapidly fading away.
The sparkle that was once in your eyes

Gone.

There is no place left for it to stay.
Like an eclipse that forms in the sky,
I can see the heat from hell covering you as you pass by.

I saw sorrowfilled eyes staring back at me.
You yearn for the forbidden touch.
Yet no one can come close to you.
There is a certain road you won't follow through.

You remain silent in your darken haven.
Away from the light that shines within.
