My search was long but I had managed to find a few year books and photo albums.

I had rid them of the dust they accumulated from being in the dirty attic then took them with me downstairs to my room.

As I started flipping through pages I saw a few photos in the yearbooks of me. Mostly in group photos like class photos or clubs/programs I was involved in, apparently.

Like theater, music, make up, cheerleading. A little much for a middle schooler. On top of that I was in sports apparently which Is hard to believe I can't even imagining running a Lap, much less chase around a ball and shove girls.

Finally when I pulled up my fifth grade year book I gasped.

Lopez was not lying, he really was our substitute teacher. And it seems he was our sub for most of the year because our teacher had a neck brace.

Lopez was standing next to our class as we all smiled most likely due to instructions given to us.

I smiled but heard a knock on my door causing me to jolt, slam close the book then shove all of them under my bed.

"Come in" I shouted.

"Hey, I brought salmon, want some?" Joshua showed me a platter of tasty looking salmon most likely his admirer from work made him.

"Sure, but I have some studying to do, mind if I eat in here?" I asked him.

"Not at all, I have to finish up reviewing some reports so I will be eating in my office as well. What are you studying for? It's been your first day?" He cocked his eye brow.

"Music?" I answered but it had came out more like a questions.

"Oh. I thought you were studying those old yearbooks." He chuckled, instantly my face began to heat up.

"Eden. You don't have to hide the fact that you want to figure out about your past. The only thing I worry about is the frustration you'll develop, doc says it can possibly bring back the migraines. I want to help you Eden" Joshua said sitting besides me with the intruiging fish on his lap.

"I'll be fine. But I need to figure out things on my own as well. You can't hold my hand forever" I said to him, he let go of the tray with one hand and held my Own.

"But I will when you want me to, and for however long you'd like" he said.

I smiled at my older brother then snickered as I picked at the dead fish, took a chunk and tossed the grilled goodness into my mouth.

"Hey! At least let me plate It!" Joshua got up then rushed out of my room with my future dinner, leaving me in my room to freely look through the year books.

He even showed me a few videos that were on a CD, that were currently playing on my laptop.  The videos were from my childhood in school to give me a glance into the past I had long forgotten.

In some clips from the 5th grade, Lopez could be seen.

In one video he was talking with my parents while Joshua was too busy recording me attempting to do cart wheels.

I chuckled slightly but became curious as to Why Lopez was talking to my parents.

"Jay!?" I shouted, joshua came running into my room briefly.

"Yeah!?" He asked.

"Why is mom and dad talking to Lopez?" I asked.

"Apparently they were friends. I never really knew his name as to why I didn't give you a name. I just knew he knew us but I didn't want to overwhelm you" he said.

I nodded. "That's all" I smiled, he rolled his eyes, approached me then took my now empty and  squeeky clean plate to actually properly wash it.

I kept replaying the video, it was like I didn't recognize any of the people in the video except for Lopez, I didn't even recognize myself.

I bit my lip anxiously then took out the CD from my laptop, chucked it back into the CD sleeve then shut down my laptop.

It is hard watching videos when I can't remember anything or recognize my own parents.

I sighed then began to neatly put my yearbooks back into the box as well as the CD sleeves, I then slid that box near the foot of my bed.

I got up to head out to the living room but I stopped briefly. I turned to my left seeing the closed door of what could have been my parent's room.

Their stuff is in there, that's about it. We moved here after they passed on anyways so what would be the point in setting up a room that won't be used.

"Mind taking out the garbage?" Joshua asked.

My head snapped towards him.

"I do mind but I'll still take it out" i responded, he rolled his eyes and handed me a white, heavy plastic bag.

I started walking to the door, opened it then went outside.

As I was walking to the trash bin I heard another door open. I turned to my left seeing Joseph in a white wife beater and sweatpants.

"Hey Eve" he called out.

I waved at him then shyly looked away.

For an older guy he had an amazing body.

Is that legal? To be checking out my teacher?

Well he isn't really my teacher. He's my neighbor and well he's friends with our family.

Damn it Eden, you lost your memories not your morality or sense of logic.

"Hey Mr Lopez" I finally greeted him, still not looking at him.

He jumped over the gate quickly which startled me but he opened the heavy lid of the trash bin, took the trash bag from me the dumped it.

"Uh thank you" I said still surprised by his sudden movement.

"Didn't mean to startle you, but I just like showing off how hearty I am" he joked, I chuckled in response. "you seem handy and fit" I nodded.

"Well I have to be, men my age let themselves go or just stop caring about their well being and end up looking like those online pedophiles who are bald, obese and creepy" he joked again.

"spot on" I said with another chuckle.

"I was just going to fix my AC, since Seth is no help, mind if I borrow your brother"  he rolled his eyes slightly at the mention if Seth not wanting to help him.

"Well he brought work home so he may be busy. But I'm free, I'd like to help, it will come in handy in case I may have to fix our AC" I said to him.

"Sounds great, you're such a sweetheart, let me go ask your brother if you may help me" he said, "Come on in" I said walking ahead of him to invite him into my home.
