Chapter Twenty Øne

"Are you okay with going back to class? I can write you a note, you can stay back if you'd like" Joe approached me.

"That's sweet of you, but I'll have to get back eventually, and face Andres" I said to him.

He sighed, "Eden, knowing you, you'll fall for his lies again" he said then waved at Fonnel who left the classroom last.

"Well, i- over reacted Joe, it is not his fault" I shook my head.

"Of course it is! He knows you can not remember your parents, but they are your parents nonetheless, he disrespected you and their passing. Those are early signs of verbal abuse, and I'll be damned if he ever hurts you in any shape or form" Joe said in a whisper shout.

I looked down at my feet but nodded slowly.

I knew he would tell Joshua, and I would get the same talk with Joshua.

"Maybe it is best you leave him. F-for your sake, Eve" he said to me in a whisper.

I looked back up at him, "i-i've never broken up with someone.. What do I do?" I asked him.

"Tell him you do not feel like you guys are working out?" He responded to me in a question.

"But I thought we were..." I whispered but more to myself.

"Eve. you've always put others before you, It is time you put yourself first for once, save your heart." He put his hands on my shoulders.

I looked up at him again, his face was closer to mine than expected so we were mere inches apart. I froze, oh fuck, any closer and I probably would have kissed him accidentally.

He smiled sincerely then let go of my shoulders, placed a small kiss on my forehead which made my stomach flip but in a nice way.

"Take care" he whispered.

I nodded, I then hugged him tightly but quickly, grabbed my items and left the room.

That's when the bell rang for our fifth class.

I was walking to class with my arms crossed when someone ran up to join me besides me, it was Kim.

"Hey, hot stuff?" She nudged me with her shoulder, making me chuckle.

I let out a small giggle, "hey, so I heard, everyone is talking about it, are you okay?" She Asked.

"Yeah- yeah I'm fine" I shrugged.

"Alright, well if anything, you have my number, dude" she said.

"Thanks" I smiled.

We both continued our way to class when outside of one of the classrooms was Andy with Nikki.

I froze.

She was giggling but then she embraced him and kissed him.

My heart sank.

"Wooooah. Are you for real? I just heard he made you cry, I didn't know you guys broke up?"
