Chapter Eight

"Hey Josh" I called out for my brother, Lopez hesitated to walk into my home but he did since I was nudging my head for him to come inside.

"What's up- oh hey Joseph" Joshua walked towards Joseph and shook hands as well as pounding fists.

"Hey thanks for dropping off the rascal" Joshua said. I glared at him playfully, "Eh, its my job to drop off the rascal considering he lives with me, but Eden was an angel" Lopez said causing us to laugh knowing very well he was speaking about his brother.

"Speaking of the rascal, bastard doesn't want to help me with handy work, I was going to ask you but Eden said you have work to do" he said.

"I do, I apologize but you can borrow this one, she isn't Doing much" Joshua said to him.

"For your information, taking naps and watching Netflix is hard work" I said sarcastically rolling my eyes.

But of course I still went with Lopez to go fix his AC unit.

At first we had to check some box thing outside, I stood back as Lopez talked about some of the wiring and stuff that I was very confused about.

"Seems like the former owners couldn't be bothered to use the AC, nothing is plugged in" he said rolling his eyes.

"You've lived here for how long and have never used your AC unit?" I rose my eyebrow.

"For your information, I have lived here for roughly 5 years, and no we haven't had the need to use the AC considering we have not gotten heat waves in like a decade" he looked over at me, there was dust on his face from when he pried the contraption open.

"Its going to be fall soon though, what's the big deal in trying to fix the AC?" I asked.

"Heatwaves here tend to hit towards the ends of summer, now if you don't want to use your AC for those heatwaves, get ready to get heat stroke" he retorted back at me playfully.

"Touche" I grumbled under my breath.

I was looking at him trying to mess around with some wires.

"Is the power even off on that? You can get electrocuted" I said to him.

"well if Seth did anything I Asked him to, he would have turned off the power. Be a doll and check the power box for me please?" He asked, I nodded with a smile.

The powerbox at my house is by the backyard porch so that is in the direction I headed, walking around a hard working Lopez.

I reached the power box, opened the dust and spiderweb covered box only to see there were hundred of switches. With No labels.

Great.

Joseph's POV

Eden smiled and nodded at my request of switching off the power , it was as if she knew the anatomy of my home because she went straight to my backyard.

But then again her home is built the same as my own. Oh well.

I didn't even realize I had been watching her as she walked away from me.
