The next day I was nervous. I was debating going to school and facing The Lopez brothers.
I was holding a heated water bottle and held it to my forehead to give me the temporary illusion that I had a fever. Then I went to go find Josh.
"Hey, uh, Josh, I don't feel too good" I said holding my forehead.
He looked up from his laptop then walked towards me.
"What is it, sis?" He asked putting the back of his hand against my forehead.
"Oh my god, you're burning up, what are you doing? Get back into bed, I'll call the school, and make you tea and soup" he started scrambling.
"Josh, it's okay, I'll be okay, I just need rest" I chuckled slightly.
"Yeah, you're right, but call me if ANYTHING, I'll come rushing back home" he said to me.
I nodded again then headed into my room, I slipped my pajamas back on then slipped under my covers. I started to nod off again when I heard Josh come into my room. He left some medicine on my vanity, a mug of tea and a small envelope.
He then came towards me and felt my forehead again. It wasn't as warm as it was but he was still concerned. I felt guilty lying to him but I just couldn't face reality right now.
"Rest up, hun, I'll call Joseph to check on you-"
"No, no, I'll be fine. I promise." I muttered calmly trying not to freak out and be suspicious.
"If you say so, I'll call you later, I have to get ready for work" he said kissing my forehead then leaving my room, closing the door behind him.
Joshua went on his way rushing to get ready for work, I heard him rustling, our walls aren't too thick so I heard him moving everywhere. Soon I heard nothing, signalizing that josh has left the house.
I stood up then walked towards my curtained window, and slightly peeked out , seeing josh getting ready to get into his car when he looked up and looked towards his right. He waved and smiled.
I was confused slightly but then someone approached him.
Joe.
He gave josh a brotherly hug, they chatted for a bit but I couldn't exactly hear them, I could hear their laughs but not what they were saying.
Josh then pointed in the house, so Joe looked over at the front window and nodded, his facial expressions changed from happy to very concerned and suspicious.
"No, Josh, I told you not to tell him" I muttered.
Josh then chuckled, Joe forced out a chuckle, they said their goodbyes, as Josh got in his car, Joe faced his back towards me waving off Joshua.
Once Josh drove away, Joe turned around to face my home. His eyes began to scan my home, I felt his eyes go over me, so I gasped and closed my curtain.
What if he comes over?
Oh no, my plan has been foiled by my worried older brother.
