Chapter Eighteen

Andy I turned around to see Seth.

"Seth?" I stood up from my seat in the sand.

"Yes" he shrugged slightly.

"Hey man, thank you" Andy also stood up handing over the guitar back to the strangers.

"Yeah well now let's go" Seth nodded his head behind him.

"What?" I asked in confusion and walking towards him.

"Well, Josh is worried, he sent me out looking for you, and considering I was in the area, I thought I might look here" he said nudged his hair away from his face.

I looked at him still confused then turned around to Andy.

"I'm so sorry-" I said to him.

"There's no reason you should be, go on, stay safe. I'll see you at school tomorrow" Andy approached me planted a kiss on my forehead then waved at Seth as he made his was to his car.

"Right so, ready?" He asked.

Seth look upset, but like he was trying to hide it.

Considering our encounter earlier I was in an awkward position.

"Eden, we have to-"

"Yes I know" I said above a whisper then began to walk with Seth to Joe's car.

Andy had left my shoes on the hood of the car so I grabbed them then slipped them on.

I looked up and made eye contact with someone else.

My whole body froze seeing Joseph looking at me through the driver's seat.

I smiled nervously but he only slightly waved.

I looked at Seth.

"What? Did I not mention he was here too?" He asked. I shook my head, "My apologies" he said then got inside the passenger's seat.

I went around to get in the back seat, dusting off my bum before I got inside.

"Hey Joe" I greeted , "Hey Eden" he said simply not bothering to look at me.

He began to reverse out of the parking space, avoiding eye contact with me making me uneasy.

"Have you heard the good news?" Seth asked Joe in an annoyed tone.

"What?" Joe simply asked as he put the car in drive and began to drive in the direction of home.

"Andres gave Eden his necklace" Seth said in a annoyed chuckle , making me super uncomfortable.

"Meaning?" Joe asked, confused by his brother.

"Isn't it obvious, brother? Eden fell for Andres' bullshit, they're a couple now." Seth said making Joe's head snap in his brother's direction.

Joseph slightly glanced at Me then back at the road.

"Is that right?" Joe asked sounding distant.

I didn't respond.

I was awkwardly just hearing as the boy I kissed earlier babble about my personal life to his brother as if I were not in the car and right behind him might I say.

"Uh" was all that came out of my mouth.

Joe looked at me from the rearview mirror.

"Is that wonderful news?" Seth asked his brother, faking joy.

"Seth" joe said pointedly.

"Answer me brother? The player gets the new girl, the younger new girl by the way, he has her around his finger-"

"That's enough Seth" joe said to his brother.

My fear began to increase. I began to clutch onto the bottom parts of my skirt.

"He is only trying to get in between her legs! But it's all okay isn't it? As long as little Eve is fucking happy-"

"Drop it, Seth!" Joe rose his voice then looked at Seth.

His eyes drifted to me for a split second before he turned back to the road.

"i-"

He sighed, "I am so sorry about this" Joe glanced at me again from the mirror.

I only managed to nod my head slightly.

I couldn't swallow, I didn't realize the uncomfortableness was actually fear until Seth began to raise his voice.

I shuddered then pulled out my phone from my purse, shakily looking down at a message from my brother telling me the Lopez's were coming to get me because he couldn't, he was called to cover a night shift.

It was only 10 but I understood why Josh wanted me to get picked up.

Big brother/Father instincts and accusations such as most likely inviting him in the home.

After a few minutes we arrived on our block.

Joe parked in front of my home, immediately Seth walked out, slamming the car door.

Joe sighed then took out the keys from the ignition.

I reached for the car door handle when Joe turned around to me.

"I am so sorry-"

"Stop apologizing. it's okay" I finally said with a small smile.

"Okay" he forced out a smile.

"Thank you" I said before pulling the handle then exiting the car, closing the door behind Me.

I began to pull out my keys from my purse.

I turned around seeing Joseph getting out of his car, locking it.

I then unlocked my front door then got inside , closing and locking the door behind me, leaning my back against it. 

Tonight escalated rather quickly. I'm starting to regret becoming social.

Josh came home around late midnight, almost three in the morning, I had stayed up waiting for him, worried something might have happened to him.

Plus. I couldn't sleep.
