I had only been doing this secretary job for hardly a week and now I had to go to France. I mean, I wasn't complaining. It is France after all. It was all just a bit sudden since I was still pretty new at this.
I finished packing my bags and then waited in my apartment until I saw the limo that Mr. Maxwell sent to pick me up. I quickly hurried down my stairs, lugging my suitcases behind me. I reached the car and when I got in I saw Mr. Maxwell sitting on the other side.
"Hello, Mr. Maxwell. Thankyou for picking me up." I said sweetly as he just nodded, not saying a word.
The rest of the trip was completely silent as we drove to the airport where I soon found out that we were taking his private jet. I was definitely not prepared for that. And I guess Mr. Maxwell could tell because I heard him chuckle lightly.
"Close your mouth." He said which then made me realize my mouth was hanging open.
"O-oh, s-sorry." I stuttered out, embarrassed.
He just rolled his eyes as usual as he helped me into his plane. The inside was even more stunning then the outside. The seats looked very cushy and there was even a little snack bar.
"Your plane is amazing, Mr. Maxwell." I said softly before sitting down in a seat he motioned me to.
"Thankyou." He said simply which made me let out a heavy sigh. He raised an eyebrow at me "What?" He asked.
"You just hardly ever say anything, sir. You only say like three words." I said before biting my lip. Did I really just say that to my boss?
He pursed his lips, taking a moment to say something back. "Why does it matter to you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
I sighed and looked at the ground for a fee seconds "I guess it doesn't.." I mumbled slightly.
"Don't mumble." He said. I remembered him telling me one day that he hated when people mumbled.
I sighed and nodded "Sorry, Mr. Maxwell." I said.
Mr. Maxwell's pov
----------------------------------This girl seemed to just get more and more annoying. Yet, there was something that intrigued me about her.
Every time she said something to me it ended in Mr. Maxwell. Which I can't really be annoyed at that since I told her to always address me with that. So I finally decided to tell her my name.
"Sorry, Mr. Maxwell." Brooklyn said as her eyes stayed on the ground.
"Carson." I said with a sigh before those beautiful eyes of her met mine.
"What?" She asked me, looking confused.
"That's my first name. Carson. You can call me it as long as we aren't in front of any clients or employees." I said and I watched a smile form on her face.
"That's a nice name." She said with a bright smile which caused me to smile a little. "And you can just call me Brooklyn instead of Ms. Myers by the way." She said.
I nodded and didn't respond for a moment as I just studied her beauty. She was so gorgeous and always had the sweetest smile. Was I falling for this girl? Just then I heard someone snap their fingers. It was Brooklyn.
"Mr-" she cut herself off "Carson, you ok there? You blanked out for a while." She said.
I blinked a few times before running a hand through my hair. This girl was something else.
"Um yeah. I'm fine." I said with a nervous chuckle.
She nodded slowly, knowing that wasn't true but she left it at that.
"Want some wine?" I asked as I got up since we were already in the air. We had been talking so much I didn't even notice we had taken off.
She nodded with a soft smile as I opened a bottle of red wine and poured it into two glasses, handing her one.
"Thankyou...Carson." She said, seeming to finally get used to saying my name.
I chuckled quietly and sat back down as I sipped by wine.
"You're welcome, Brooklyn." I said to her which she gave me a smile.
"You can just call me Brook." She said softly which made me smile a little again. Even her name was beautiful.
Brooklyn's pov
---------------------------We sat there talking before we both decided to go to sleep for the rest of the flight. After a while, we were awoken by the sound of the pilot saying that we had just landed. I groggily opened my eyes and saw that Carson must have just woken up as well because he was letting out a loud yawn.
He looked at me and flashed me one of those gorgeous smiles, even though it was a small one.
"We've arrived." He said before standing up and offering me his hand.
