The next day me and Carson went back to work as usual. I was just his secretary again and he was my boss. We were nothing more I had to remind myself. We couldn't have anything between us. Would that relationship even work with him being my boss? It might be weird for him to ask me to do things if we were anything more then just boss and employee.
I walked into Carson's office with a stack of papers.
"You have about three meetings today and you also have people requesting for meetings." I said as I laid out the papers in front of him.
He sighed "Call back Mr. Peterson's and tell him I'll agree to a meeting but it has to be right here and not out of the country." He said as I watched him scan over the papers.
I nodded and gave him a small smile. "Good luck with all the work today." I said before walking back out to my desk.
Today was a very busy day. I had tons of paper work and Carson had a lot of meetings. It was finally the end of the day and I was cleaning up all my stuff when I saw a shadow come over my desk. I let out a sigh and looked up, thinking it was just some client. But the man in front of me was not some client.
"Jaxon?"
Carson's pov
------------------------It was finally the end of the day and I was getting ready to leave work. And maybe see if Brooklyn wanted to go out to dinner with me. I walked out and opened my mouth to talk to Brook but saw her hugging a man and looking a little too happy for my liking. She was hugging another man. What was this feeling that I'm feeling? Jealousy. But I can't be jealous. She's not even mine even though I may want her to be...
I let out a sigh and walked over to them as I saw her pull away from him. I don't think I've ever seen her look so happy.
"Goodbye Brooklyn. I'll see you tomorrow." I said, forcing a smile.
"Oh, Carson. I want to introduce you to someone." She said and grabbed my hand before I could get too far.
"This is Jaxon, my brother." She said with a smile.
I let out a quiet sigh of relief. He was just her brother. Nothing more. Was I really that relieved? God, what has this girl done to me? She has so much control over me and she doesn't even know it.
"Oh, it's nice to meet you." I said and held out my hand which Jaxon happily shook.
"Nice to meet you too. It's good to see that my little sister has a good boss." He said and looked over at Brooklyn "C'mon. We need to talk." Jaxon said and quickly walked to the elevator with Brooklyn.
Well that was weird. What did he need to talk to her about that was so urgent? Must be something important.
Brooklyn's pov
---------------------------I walked into the elevator with Jaxon and I saw him let out a sigh.
"I know you didn't want me to come here in case Brandon found you but I feel like he may be onto you. There's something up with him. I think you need to start preparing to leave again." He said with a sigh.
"I need to get a restraining order or something so if he violates it he'll be arrested. God, I wish I had never met him. My life is a complete mess now." I said then walked out of the elevator.
"You're gonna have to lose contact with your boss too if you leave. You can't leave any traces." Jaxon told me as we walked to my car.
"But Jax...there's something about Carson. He's different then Brandon and I feel something between us." I said with a small blush as I admitted it.
"Well right now you can't get involved with someone again. He could turn out like Brandon for all you know. Now, I have to go so he doesn't get suspicious or ask where I was." Jaxon said and kissed my cheek. "Be safe." He said softly with a small, sad smile.
"I will. I love you." I said and then waved him off as he drove away in his car.
I sighed and was about to get into my car when a hand grabbed onto my wrist. I jumped and quickly turned around and smacked whoever grabbed my wrist.
"What the hell was that?!" I heard the familiar voice yell. Carson.
I looked back at him, my eyes wide. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was you!" I quickly apologized. Oh god, I just smacked my boss in the face.
"Who just turns around and smacks someone?" He asked as he rubbed his now red cheek.
"I-I.." I stuttered out, not able to tell him the real reason why I did it. I thought it was Brandon.
"Damn that's one hell of an arm.." He mumbled and looked at me.
"I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do to make you forgive me?" I asked as I watch a smile grow on his face.
"Yes, you can. You can go out on a date with me." He said with a grin.
"What?! Why would you want to do that out of all things?" I asked.
"Well do you want me to forgive you or not?" He asked and crossed his arms.
I sighed, knowing there was no way I could say no. But why would I even want to say no?
Finally, I nodded and smiled a little. "Alright. We'll have a date."
