Oh my gosh I am so sorry for the super long wait. School and work have been super crazy and I've had like no motivation. I'll try and keep regular updates.

Carson's pov

"Brooklyn, I know we haven't been dating for years like some people but I just can't wait to do this anymore. You've turned me into someone so much better then how I was before. When you first met me I was cold and didn't care for anyone really. But when I saw you I knew there was something different about you. You were just so perfect and happy even when your life wasn't. I tried to keep my cold front when I was around you but my god you made it impossible. And every day I spent with you I just got more attracted and intrigued by you. You're the best thing to ever happen to me. I promise I'll always love you and care for you. I'll protect you and never leave your side. So, will you Brooklyn Harper Myers" I said and moved off of the bed and got down on one knee in front of her "marry me?" I asked as I pulled out a small velvet box from under the bed and opened it, revealing a big diamond ring with an intricate design on it.

I watched her slowly sit up in our bed, her eyes wide and glazing over with tears. For a few moments she was silent and had an unreadable expression on her face. I was starting to get a little worried. But then a bright smile took over her face and she nodded quickly "Yes! Yes! Yes! Of course I will!" She said happily before throwing her arms around me and taking us both down to the floor.

I chuckled and hugged her back, kissing her cheek softly "Well can I at least put the ring on your finger?" I asked with a smirk as she pulled away and nodded. We both sat up again and I gently slid the ring onto her finger, a bright smile on both of our faces.

"I love you so much." I whispered and hugged her tightly. I couldn't believe this amazing woman was going to be my wife.

Today, me and Brooklyn were going to my parents house to announce our engagement. Its been a week since we got engaged and we've been waiting to be able to tell people that we are. But I wanted to tell my family first before we told anyone else. So here we were parked in front of my parents house, my siblings already inside. I looked over at Brooklyn who looked a little nervous.

I kissed her cheek and smiled "Relax, sweetheart. They already love you. What is there to be worried about?" I asked her.

She shrugged and looked at me "I don't know. What if they changed their minds about me?" She asked and bit her lip.

"You overthink things too much." I pecked her lips and got out of the car. I opened the door for her and we walked to the door. I knocked on the door and heard someone run to the door.

"You're somehow always late even when you're the one who wanted this dinner." My younger sister Charlie said with a smile.

I rolled my eyes playfully and ruffled her hair "Nice to see you too." I said as me and Brooklyn walked past her. The next person we ran into was my older brother, Corven, who was probably the most serious of all of us.

"Carson, Brookyln, it's nice to see you two again." He said formally. God, he acts so serious.

"You need to lighten up and act like a normal person. Nice to see you too." I said with a smirk as he rolled his eyes. And then finally, my last sibling, Cameron, walked into the room with a smile.

"Hey! You guys finally made it." He said and walked over to us with a smile on his face.

"We are not that late. We're only like five minutes late." I said with a scoff as Brooklyn giggled beside me.

"Actually, sweetheart we were supposed to be here almost twenty minutes ago." She said which made Cameron smirk.

"Anyways, mom and dad sent me out here to tell everyone that the food is ready." He said before walking to the dining room as everyone followed.

Brooklyn and I sat down next to each other as all my siblings sat down. My parents brought out the food and set it on the table.

"You two got here just in time." My mom said with a soft smile as she sat down in her chair, my father doing the same. The food looked amazing. My mom made chicken with a garlic bread and my god it all looked and smelled amazing.

We all started putting food on our plates and fell into a light conversation. Once everyone was done eating my mother looked at me and Brooklyn with a raised brow.

"So why did you two decide to have dinner with everyone all of a sudden?" She asked skeptically, of course she knew something was up. She always did.

"Well me and Brooklyn have some news." I said with a bright smile, not able to contain it anymore.

"She's pregnant!" Charlie asked with a grin on her face. That guess made Brooklyn choke on her own spit.

"Oh god no. Not yet. Why don't you just get to the point, Carson?" Brooklyn asked me with a sigh as I chuckled.

"We're engaged." I announced as Brooklyn held her hand up, showing off her brand new engagement ring. There were gasps all around the table and I swear my mothers face couldn't have had a bigger smile on it.

"Oh that's amazing! Finally, my baby is engaged and is going to get married!" She said happily and got up, hugging Brooklyn and I. There were congrats all around the table, even from Corven. The night went on for another hour before me and Brooklyn started to head home.

"I told you there was nothing to worry about." I told Brooklyn as we drove home, one of my hands holding onto hers.

"Yeah, yeah. Your mom almost looked more excited then me when you asked me to marry you." She said with a small laugh.

"Well she's been wanting me to settle down for years now. She's just happy that I finally am with the woman I love." I said and kissed her hand softly.

She smiled and leaned over, kissing my cheek softly "I can't wait to be Brooklyn Maxwell." She whispered.
