Chapter Twenty Four: Denial
My front door slams, pulling me out of my sleep in my bed.
Panic sets in.
Who the hell is in my house?
I sit up, looking around for a weapon.
Okay, okay, you don't live in the same house that you did with Elliot. Nobody has a key.
Who is here?
I reach for my phone to call the cops when somebody walks into my bedroom.
I hear the switch flip and light fills my room.
Fucking Aiden.
I sigh, dropping back down. My head hits the pillow hard.
"You scared the shit out of me. How the hell did you get in?"
"I'm a convict. I can pick a lock." He says. "Why did you leave the bar?"
"Have you ever heard of fucking knocking?" I snap.
"It's about time you made me a damn key." He rolls his eyes. "Let me see your hand."
"No." I say. "I'm sleeping. Leave."
"Actually, you're awake and talking to me." He says. "Why did you leave the bar?"
"Because I was bleeding externally and there was really no point for me to be there."
"What are you talking about?" He sighs. "Why would there be no point for you to be there?"
"Well Reese was finger fucking his flavor of the night and you had Katie-"
He gasps, putting his hand over his heart.
"You're jealous. Aww, Wet Lily, I'm touched!"
"I told you not to call me that." I warn.
"What are you going to do? Fight me?" He smirks.
I pick up a pillow and throw it at him.
He hits it out of his way mid air.
"I could call the police since you broke into my house." I say.
"I wouldn't have to break in if you gave me the key."
"If I gave you a key, you would come in whenever you want."
"I already do that."
He has a point.
"Go away or I'm calling the cops."
"You would never call the cops on me. I'm fucking fabulous."
"You're fucking gay." I reply.
"You and I both know that I'm not gay, Wet Lily."
I shove the covers off of me and stand up on the mattress wearing only my t-shirt and my underwear.
I lunge at him, landing on his back, and he doesn't move at all.
He's like a brick wall.
"Call me Wet Lily one more time, and I swear-"
"What? You'll jump on my back but this time completely naked?"
I jump off of him and grab both of his arms behind his back, pinning him against the wall.
"I will beat your ass." I threaten.
But he starts laughing.
The prick. He's laughing.
