Mad |Chapter 7|

- Kaneki's POV -

The next day....

I couldn't sleep through that night, the screaming had pierced my ears, and I would break down crying, knowing how useless I was, unable to help Rin. That man had only stopped when he came to check on me, and every time he did, he injected me with the RC suppressant again. I tried my best to ignore the constant hunger pains, that slowly grew worse.

'Rin....I-I'm so sorry....' I thought, cradling myself on the cold floor, defencelessly.

Suddenly I heard a door creak open, it was the door to my cell and I looked up, seeing the blonde haired man, glaring at me. I didn't even give the guy a time to react, I just ran up to him, slamming my fist into the side of his face as hard as I could without my strength.

"Ah...that actually hurt..." The guy grunted, holding the side where he was hit, "Not good enough though..!"

He grabbed me by the neck, choking me extremely hard, I gasped for breath but was put to failure as he put his hand to cover my mouth. I was forced to breathe out of my nose instead, which made me draft in the scent of him, he had the scent of a one eyed ghoul, which made everything add up now.

"What's wrong...not strong enough..?" The guy taunted, slamming me down into the floor.

I choked on my own blood, I could feel darkness cloud over my vision, which I was forced to give into, as I blacked out.

About an hour later....

All I heard was metal clangs, it sounded like chains being hit against each other. My eyes slowly opened, all I remember was being knocked out, I couldn't see anything though, it was pitch black.

'What's going on...?' I thought, I felt a wave of hunger wash over me, This was the worst one of the day, it caused me to start drooling, 'Need....flesh...'

I pushed away my hunger thoughts, just as I heard a loud noise, it sounded like something being pulled by a metallic material, it actually hurt my ears. Light suddenly shone into my eyes, causing me to squint harshly, a door was being pulled upwards, slowly as it opened, this was the source of the sound. The big door opened completely, and I was standing in almost an arena like area, but what freaked me out was the fact there was blood on the floor.

'Please don't tell me, this is another scrapper chase...!' I thought, remembering how Tsukiyama had tried to eat me when he set up a trap the first time we met.

- Rin's POV -

- Kaneki's POV -

I could tell from underneath my eyepatch my Kakugan had activated, the blood scent was overwhelming so it kind of did that intentionally. I gulped, unsure of what to do, but before long I had stepped out into the centre of the arena, hearing the door slam down behind me which made me flinch. I'm honestly horrified right now, I want to know where Rin is.

'This blood....there's so much....so much....to shove into my mouth!!' I thought, I could feel myself starting to drool even more, as the pain got worse, but then I flinched, snapping back into reality, 'What am I thinking?!'

Suddenly, my dark thoughts were interrupted by the metallic sound returning, I turned towards my door but it wasn't mine that was making the noise. I turned back forwards, realizing there was another door on the other side of the arena, I squinted to try and see what was on the other side, but all I could see was blue flames....Wait....blue flames!

'Blue flames...oh no, did he get my sword?!' I panicked, cracking one of my fingers nervously.

What stepped out of the door is what made my heart stop, my eyes widened as I watched a boy step out of the doorway, his head looked down at the ground, and he appeared to be limping a bit. He was sprouting blue flames from his body, how wasn't he burning?! The boy had a long black tufted tail, but it also has blue flames at the end of it, his ears were very long, and I could hear a low growl coming from him.

That's when it hit me, and I realized this boy that stood across from me was Rin, "Rin!!" I shouted, desperate for a response.

Rin's head shot up, he limped faster towards me, it only then made me take notice of his eyes, they were blue but....they looked off, a red orange colour was covering the iris. There was also a knife punctured through one of his arms, but there was also a lot more wounds on him, that hadn't healed yet.

"R-Rin..." My voice had trailed off as fear pulsed through me, Rin was baring these sharp demonic fangs at me, to add onto the intimidating appearance, he has saliva foaming from his mouth as if he was a rabid animal.

I started to back away, but was frozen to my spot, the only problem was....Rin was running at me, and he clearly looked hostile!
