- Rin's POV -
You know what, this Kaneki person is actually pretty cool, we had a small chat that was still going on at the moment. Did I mention the fact he reminds me of Suguro? I mean sure Suguro has piercings and Kaneki has black nails but it makes them both look cool! Cooler than me at least....no fair. He'd better not get all the girls.
"Did you paint your nails or something?" I asked, 'oddly' bringing it up since I happened to notice that when he was touching his chin.
Kaneki flinched slightly, he gave me an awkward, nervous smile that was forced.
"E-eheh...let's just say a friend did it to me...like a...like a dare." Kaneki responded, he seemed slightly flustered in a way, yet his eyes gave off a dark emotion that didn't last too long.
"Cool." I responded, giving a grin as I tried to not make him feel pressured, he was so easy to tip off 'balance'.
"Thank you.." Kaneki mumbled slightly, he raised his hand slightly, it quivered a bit.
I tilted my head slightly, confused at his quivering hand. I watched as he raised it, putting his pointer finger down and his thumb on top of it. A loud crack broke through the air.
"What the..." I mumbled under my breath, unsure if Kaneki had heard, it was quiet so I assumed he hadn't heard.
Kaneki jolted, "O-oh...sorry...I just have a habit of cracking my fingers...i-it's kinda...I don't know really why I do it...I think I'm just a bit nervous, that's all..."
"It's okay, it's normal for people to have a nervous habit." I shrugged, I honestly have no clue why Kaneki is so concerned about his actions, it's like he doesn't have any self confidence.
I was going to say something, but then something just had to spark into my memory....I still need to get my sword that I left in the classroom. I guess the conversation seems about over anyways.
"...erm...hey Kaneki...wanna talk again tomorrow, I kinda forgot....something....in the classroom." I brought up quickly, looking at him directly.
"Oh...okay, sure." Kaneki gave a small nod of approval, his teeth looked a bit clenched for some reason.
"Well then...uh...see you!" I bolted past him after waving goodbye, I really hope nobody took my sword.
About twenty minutes later....
I sorta lost my sword....let's just say I spent a long time looking for it, but it's literally gone, poof, not there. All I could think of was....Yukio's gonna kill me.
'I'm screwed....' I thought awkwardly, I could feel my demon tail which was wrapped around my body underneath my dress shirt trying to unwrap and lash in a nervous way....perhaps I had a nervous habit like Kaneki now.
I didn't have much of a choice, I couldn't just go up to some random kid and be like 'have you seen a sword that glows blue when drawn, no? okay, thanks for not being suspicious of me being the son of satan or anything pfft'. Yep, I'm pathetic, and if someone draws my sword when I'm least expecting it, I'm gonna flame up in front of a lot of people and be even more very screwed.
'Em....' My mind was blank, I just charged out of the classroom, trying to find Yukio.
- Kaneki's POV -
Rin seemed like a nice guy, he observed me in a way that wasn't as harsh as Tsukiyama, which I'm truly thankful for. He's kind of like Hide....his voice tone, the way he acts....I wouldn't replace Hide but they're similar to me and I like that. I was wandering back to the place where I stayed but then I felt my stomach churn, I was getting hungry, I would need to eat within a couple of weeks or I'd have worse hunger pains.
About five minutes later....
I had kept walking, there wasn't anybody near the area I was walking, everything was normal, except I hadn't been paying attention and I tripped over something...I have no clue what it is.
"What the!" I yelped as I luckily hadn't fallen over, just a stumble.
The thing I had tripped over was inside of a red sash like material, it clearly wasn't supposed to be here. I picked it up and could feel that there was something inside of it, the only question is...should I open it?
'Even if I did open it....how do you even open this thing...?" I was confused for a second, until I realized there were black straps on it, 'Oh.'
I still didn't open it, I felt around though. I could make out a shape that was long, it reminded me of a weapon. My final decision would be to take it home, and then open it if I had time, since Yukio had given me homework.
Many more minutes later....
I had reached home, I stepped through the wooden door and went up the stairs to my small bedroom. I put the sash on my desk and hesitated.
'What if this wasn't supposed to fall into my hands...' I wondered, I couldn't take my eyes off the sash.
I sighed slightly, not knowing what to expect, but I forced myself to grab my books and start doing my homework.
